That damn monkey was sooo creepy. I still got the chills after the many times i've watch this episode. I believe the enemy stands here are based on Horror icons. Like the doll is Chucky for example.

Also, stands that are bound to physical objects (such as a boat) are visible to non stands users, hence why Anne and the Sailors could see the ship.

Any living thing is capable of having a stand! So long as it has the fighting spirit. Even things like trees lol.
