World Trigger is probably the best modern shounen in terms of trying to not include fan service. The fights are actually good given it is about tactics and not just yelling and feelings like in more typical series of the similar kind. We need another season I should get up to speed with manga the downside is the progression later on is super slow and there are lots of characters.

I'm torn between a couple of reccommendations but I think I'll go with "Ranking of Kings" which is about Prince Bojji, the deaf, mute and feeble son of the giant King Bosse, the strongest king in the land who is on his death bed, and his journey to become worthy to rule. The rest of the story is kind of like if "My Neighbour Totoro" met "Game of Thrones". It's a really great series.

Tetsuwan Birdy Decode / Birdy the Mighty Decode (2008) The first season of manga adaptation. It is sci-fi action series (not much heavy on sci-fi). It is imho well rounded series it has some comedy, romance as well and one twist I won't spoil. It is not super popular, but I watched this couple of times. It is quite fun. PS I am also upvoting Kill la Kill and Youjo Senki.

So many I wanted to recommend arrr. Youjo Senki / tanya the evil. Protag is similar to Overlord, where their action and intention get misinterpreted. Where she doing her best to stay away from the battlefield or cover her ass legally, but other thinking that she just that hardcore. there 12 episodes, an ova and a movie.

I'd definitely suggest The Eminence in Shadow. If you're enjoying overlord you probably enjoy that, since it has a similar theme but the comedy is cranked way up.
