The season indeed ends on a high note with a couple open ends that makes us want to watch the next season. The second season starts off with a bang and will expand more on some of the Shadow Garden members we haven't seen much this season as well as the deeper lore, so I'm confident you'll love it too! Regarding Perv Asshat, he does work with the cult but isn't a member of the twelve. As for Iris, Michael summed it up pretty perfectly. The only tidbit I would add is that being the symbol or protection and righteousness was the ONLY THING she had left. Her father and her position in the Knight Order left her unable to act politically. The only thing she could do was fulfill the kingdom's expectations of her as the swordswoman prodigy and pride of the kindgom. Shadow crushed that by defeating her, hence her breaking down at the end.
