According to the LN, Cid treated Claire to dinner to congratulate her for winning the tournament. She wondered how Cid was able to get a reservation at one of Mitsugoshi's restaurants. CId reasoned it was because he is friends with the company president. She thought he was joking as a way keep her from worrying about his finances, but appreciated the gesture. He ordered a limited-time, cheap course called the "Blessing for the Peasants." But, naturally, he and Claire got a MASSIVE upgrade and it was free of charge! Marie was not the only lady of the night he saved while parroting Mary, there were at least a few others.
