For the illness caused by halving bubbles in your blood (aka the bends), the treatment in IRL involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized container (sealed). This is known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It’s interesting stuff, though got to be careful with pure oxygen as it’s highly flammable/explosive.
