The legend of Ama-no-Iwato(cave) is that as soon as Amaterasu Omikami, the sun god, hid behind Ama-no-Iwato, the heavens were enveloped in darkness and bad things began to happen one after another. This is one of the episodes in Japanese mythology in which the eight million (yaoyorozu) gods in distress held a meeting to solve the problem and "made a great commotion in front of Ama-no-Iwato to lure out Amaterasu Omikami".Maybe it's worth remembering because it's quoted in anime from time to time?
