I'm pretty sure that Gettan initially wanted power to protect the ones he loves. But his obsession with getting power overwrote that original goal. Sacrificing the ones he loved for more power. He only remembered his original goal in his dying breaths.

Thank you again for all the info π in the end, all Gatten really wanted was power, I don't know why though before he died, he was saying Yukimi is his precious or maybe I understood it that way. of course Cid thought he was talking about the money lol π

Even in the LN, Delta vs. Juggernaut was offscreened. The closest thing we got was in the chibi companion series "Kagejitsu." Let's just say it boiled down to Delta being Delta and the fight was funny and terrifying. Yukime's own fight against Gettan was farmore epic, before he got the upper hand, she basically went Super Saiyan. But his ability to see magic turned things around. Cid then went and started overwhelming him with his magical thread. It was only then Gettan took one of the pills. Yukime's company, Snow Fox Corporation specializes in making knockoffs of various products. That's why Cid decided to work with her. They even made a bunch of fake Mitsugoshi merchandise.
