In mathematics there is something called a Matrix (basically a square of numbers) and pretty much all modern AI is based on doing calculations with those. This movie about AI having the same name is just a coincidence though, When the movie was made there would've only been a few researchers who were aware that that might be the future of AI

the oracle said "your next life maybe", so yeah, he died and come back so technically it his next life. Agent Smith successfully got out of the Matrix and reborn... as Elrond, lord of Rivendell in Lord of the Ring 😂 (elf guy, father of the elf girl that love Aragon). and here you see Neo (Kaenu Reeves) learn Kung Fu, now you need to see John Wick where he learn "Gun Fu" 😂, where he legit trained on how to use guns and martial art for the movie.
