Counselor to Cabin Baby
🕑 Added 2023-07-24 14:57:43 +0000 UTCPart 3 – A Fateful Favor = A couple days went by and things only became more tense
in Lexi’s cabin. She didn’t care to hide her clear annoyance with her surroundings nor her
complete lack of interest in getting to know the girls in her cabin.
She did the bare minimum when it came to the activities that the counselor’s needed to do
with their campers, like icebreaker activities and other stupid menial games and tasks.
The campers, specifically Brandi did her best to stay on Lexi’s good side, doing little
things like bringing her a muffin one morning as a peace offering, but not even she could break
through Lexi’s complete inability to enjoy her time here. Before she’d arrived she had decided
on being miserable, and that’s exactly what she continued to be.
For the first few days, Lexi being annoyed and grouchy was the worst of it. The campers,
unofficially led by Annabeth, (Whom Lexi was also irritated by how much she reminded her of a
younger version of herself.) had learned to just avoid Lexi for the most part and their camp
experience would end up being much more fun.
It was about a two and a half weeks in that things took a major turn.
All of the campers were out and about doing their daily activities. Swimming, rock
climbing, hiking, etc. Lexi, like she always did, was forced to follow her girls around and at least
be a supervisor during the activities while they did them with the staff member in charge of
running them. On one day in particular, Lexi was laying back, attempting to get a little sun which
was the least this sucky place could do for her when she heard a voice next to her,
“Miss Lexi?”
She actually let out an audible groan as she lifted her head up and found Violet standing
in front of her, the pale and short dark haired girl looked different without her face smooshed
into a book. “What is it?” She muttered out, annoyed at her tanning time being interrupted. The
girl looked a little nervous to speak to her, but did her best to stand strong and speak up, “I uh...
well I need my... um... tampons, but I left them in the cabin by accident. I don’t wanna make it
more obvious and leave in the middle of the activity though. Can you uh... please can you go get
them for me?”
Lexi couldn’t help but give her the most irritated expression she’d ever given. This brat
wanted her to go all the way to the cabin and back? Did she realize how far away that was?
Normally she would have outright said no to the girl, but she knew if she did she’d probably get
in trouble with the head counselor. “Ughh, do you seriously need it right now?”
Violet blushed, but nodded her head. “Y-yeah, I do.”
With a big sigh, Lexi got up from the large rock she was laying on and practically pushed
past Violet, “Fine, but you better not bother me again for the rest of the week.”
“T-thank you!” Violet called after her. “It’s in the little black and blue bag on top of my
bed.”
The whole way on the walk back to the cabin, Lexi was grumbling to herself, but was at
least happy for some peace and quiet. On the first few days she had tried to implement a ‘quiet’
rule inside their cabin, but with 6 vs 1 that rule was quickly overruled with the girls wanted to
talking seemingly all day about nonsense. She could not wait to get the fuck out of here and back
to LA where she could rant to her friends about how horrible of an experience this all was. She
could barely even talk to them, thanks to how shitty the reception out here was.
When she finally got back to the cabin Lexi went over to the bunk that Violet shared with
Brandi, and looked for the bag she’d been talking about. There were multiple bags on her bed.
Lexi started going through them, trying to find the one she’d mentioned. What had she said?
Lexi hadn’t been listening. Black and red bag?
She reached for one of the bags, but it got caught on something. Instead of trying to see
what it was caught on, she just resorted to tugging harder and harder. When it still wouldn’t
budge she put both hands on the strap and pulled even harder when... WHOOP!
The strap fell loose and Lexi ended up yanking it hard backwards as she fell to the
ground, bringing 2 or 3 of the bags with her, scattering some of their contents to the floor around
her.
“Shit,” She blurted out as she rubbed her elbow which she’d hit lightly on the ground.
The girl got up to her knees and started collecting all the items that had fallen. Nothing seemed
out of the ordinary until... she froze.
What was the strange flash of white she’d just seen inside this bag...?
