I wrote this song around 8th grade - 20 years ago! That year, I was in my first-ever band, with Leo Ciarlone (later of Whiting Brothers and American Holly), Brandon Smead, Michael McKew, Leo's sister Anne, and occasionally Amanda and a few other friends. On the few occasions we were able to gather enough of us together to practice, this was one of the songs we sort-of knew. I wrote it after a night of laser tag, when I had to guide Leo's dad, who was driving us, back towards my house, despite having no idea of how to get there myself.
Recording:
1: MIDI drums and bass
2: guitar
3-4: Vocals
Lyrics:
Turned up to 11
Past the point of no return
Speeding full blast right past direction home
Fallen out of time
Into a point of no return
Think we missed the turn half a world ago
Dead to the world
At the point of no return
Reality turning into a dream again
Dead tired, tired dead
Pitch nothing, neon nightlight
Head corkscrew, brain pressure
Nightlife on overdrive
Smash into a wall
Into the point of no return
Rain against my face and the dark has fallen
Set off the fire alarm
Ran to the point of no return
powder on the bed, the ashes spread
Asleep in the backseat
Past the point of no return
Is the clock unplugged or am I?
Dead tired, tired dead
Pitch nothing, neon nightlight
Head corkscrew, brain pressure
Nightlife on overdrive
