4-Track May B-Side: The Robot Prince
🕑 Added 2025-05-31 21:08:40 +0000 UTCInspired by a dream I had. The idea is that the central figure is a kid who’s been abducted by a robot colony, trapped inside a mechanical fortress, and also placed inside a robot body. The electromagnetic waves inside the colony affect his brain and keep him believing in his waking hours that he’s a robot. However, he has flashes of memory and dreams about his true identity. Meanwhile, his true human father is fighting from the outside to make it in and rescue his son. The second half of the song is from the father’s point of view.
“You must have been dreaming,” was her response
“To think that these were not your arms”
He looks again
At the mother’s lies
He feels the steel wool
Placed upon his eyes
The daily mail
This world will never die
“Give me comfort, mother,” he cried
“I heard someone yelling outside”
Was it in pain?
A father’s shout
The force field’s strong
Enough to keep him out
Barricade the walls
Leaking now with doubt
He’s barely alive
I can hear him when he cries
Then the static builds again
I have waited here ever since
the day they took him in
He was ripped out of my hands
I will murder all the guards
Til you can hear my beating heart
And remember who I am
I will break down these walls
