🕑 Added 2023-09-19 02:00:55 +0000 UTCI remember vividly trying out more unique paneling when I did these pages the first time around! I actually still like the composition for most of this so I tried to keep it around the same concept since I think this was when I was getting fed up about how certain things were looking??? Like I didn’t think it was good enough and I started like putting my all into backgrounds panels and bubbles because I wanted it to be something I could really be proud of! I actually idk how I feel about it now since I fight everyday with myself if I’m “allowed to make bad art :D?” but webcomics are so complicated. youre fighting youre technical skill as the same times as you time management or your schedule so you have to compensate with one over the other. Even now I see a lot of my peers who choose time over their “quality” which makes me sad! But I think at this point I was like I want sunshower to be the prettiest things I’ve ever drawn! And color became a HUGE factor at that point!

Yeah exactly! I still fight myself everyday about the bad art thing it’s so frustrating! I don’t think I’m there yet where I can say it’s something I can do cognitively but I can at least look at what I used to do and appreciate my attempt at what I thought was good but even that I’m like must I internalize all of that just to be recognize myself as better person in the “future” SO STUPID 😔😔 i do still like drawing for the sake of drawing tho which I’ve never lost but it’s all so much more MEAN LOL

This is interesting I think so far these are the two most similar pages by way of comparison! You can definitely see that you’re trying to be more dynamic and playful with the panels, that’s cool to see! Also co-signed on that thought process - I know we work in different mediums but I totally get where you’re coming from. Like yes we’re “allowed” to make bad art, it’s our right! But there’s also the challenge of putting your all into something and knowing you put your all into it when you look back on it later! Anyway I could go on but basically YES I HEAR THAT
