[2020/12/15] Hmmm ......
🕑 Added 2020-12-15 15:56:46 +0000 UTCI hadn't painted characters or monsters in glorified coloring for a while before ......
Caused me to take it a bit too lightly ......
It's actually a bit difficult and boring ......
Well ...... here's the progress on this one!
One of the larger moves of the Necromancer, then two other drawings for distraction and practice
https://www.imagevenue.com/upload/complete?session=2cbc1e9b784a525527f8427388dbc486
The one with 3 people is a slightly more complex exercise in composition and perspective.
It will probably be coloured in later as well ......
The one of XX looking at the sea is the first step of a scheduled 5-step colouring exercise, Light - Moonlight
I've booked to do 4 drafts of the light in different directions and then combine them into one scene and post-process them ......
Although this may seem like a "waste of time" to "colour a picture 4 times over"
But a single colouring is actually a little faster and easier to think about than the traditional colouring method of the past
(Because there is only one light effect to consider
The final result can only be seen when it is done.
It's a kind of test of a new idea in painting ...... hmmm
If it goes well it can also be used for DD's new paintings and more ......
Mmmmmm ......
I think I can still finish the Necromancer if I work on it ......
But last time I said it would be done soon it was a bit ......
I was going to do a look close to the original + a copy of the FGO Jeanne d'Arc look.
But the actual doing found it too much trouble, so I had to do a in-between just ......
(The basic look, for those who don't know how to use PSD.
For those who don't know how to use the PSD, there are already five types: clothed, clothed with black eyes, naked, naked with black eyes and with rings.
(If there's one more Jeanne d'Arc, I'll have to make 5 more, dizzy ......)
It is easy to draw and colour a figure of this size.
But it's easy to mimic the original in terms of lines and colours.
but to mimic the original in terms of lines and colours used, and to do it in such a way that it doesn't look too obviously unusual in the original game ......
It takes a lot of tweaking, testing and adjusting light and dark ......
Weighed up how to maintain the sexiness of the character in the darker primary colours
and the detailing to match the creature's base setting ......
(In this case, for example, I gave her an appropriately pale skin tone
--to distinguish her from the healthy human skin tones of the heroes
After all, she's probably a manipulated corpse or a regenerated corpse or something ......
A product of the necromancer's bad taste
But too pale would be uninteresting to look at, and
Too much inclination towards flesh tones would make people wonder if she's alive ......
I've deliberated a lot on the degree of this, and I've revised it several times
Although sometimes I thought about simply using a more customary drawing style for popular characters like niur ......
That would be a lot faster and seem more likely to be popular
But after thinking about it I don't think that would be a good idea.
My idea for a mod is ...... "to give the game some new colour"
I wanted to add some eroticism to DD without spoiling the atmosphere and feel of the original too much.
After all DD itself has a pretty good system ...... The atmosphere is pretty good too
Using a different style of painting, or some less deeply considered setting
It would be a bit out of line with my original intentions
I'll just keep going slower and more thoughtful
In the case of this Necromancer ......
Once I've finished the colours and designs on the first one, I'll be painting the others a little bit faster
Well, thank you all for your patience and support!
https://www.imagevenue.com/upload/complete?session=2cbc1e9b784a525527f8427388dbc486
