When thinking up these wallpapers' quote, I was inspired in part by my recent podcast episode on future-tripping. Future tripping is essentially anticipatory anxiety: when one worries about something that hasnβt even happened yet. We want to control a situation or an outcome, and we really think that we CAN. If we just try hard enough to predict, prepare and protect ourselves. We think weβre being proactive, but itβs a mirage.
I tend to do a lot of worrying not only about the future, but also the past. It's hard for me to bring myself back to the present moment and realize that so many past versions of me hoped for a life like this. I shouldn't squander the moments I have now because I'm so focused on what has already happened and what might/could/should happen in the future. I need to stop worrying so much.
What worry really is, is praying for what you donβt want. By worrying, itβs possible that youβre speaking a bad thing into existence.
Let's focus on where we're standing now, the step we're on, and not the entire looming staircase ahead. The moments we're experiencing right now are so special because we will never have them again. I want to hold tightly to the sweet moments that are happening in the now, even if I hope they might be even better someday down the line.
I hope you enjoy these wallpapers! Also, for my fellow swifties (!!!) I dropped in a few special 'august' Phone wallpapers for us to enjoy this month. XO
Here are some of my faves from this month --
XO Katy
