The boy had ultimately gone, but he hadn’t looked happy about it… even as Padme had been entirely relieved to see his Padawan’s back.
It was shortly after Anakin had gone to sleep that Padme had extended the offer of dinner to Obi-Wan. If he’d known then what he’d since realized, would he have left himself in a position where the Senator from Naboo could get him alone as she had? Mm, probably. In the end, Anakin was no good to anyone in his current state. The boy needed some rest, and Obi-Wan truly hoped he would get it.
Meanwhile, it wasn’t like he’d been completely unaware of Padme’s burgeoning arousal for him either. As much as I am glad that Anakin still has his mom and didn't murder an entire tribe of Tusken Raiders in revenge for their treatment of Shmi...I still feel like Obi-Wan is a bit of a douche canoe her. Less for taming the slutty Senator's pent-up horniness without equating it to being part of a relationship...but more for how he treats Anakin's distress about his visions of Shmi being harmed or killed. I mean, the Order knows a Sith Lord is on the loose and it's logical to believe it's powerful one, so no consideration of Anakin getting his mind attacked still feels like the Order is asking for their destruction.
