To say the last several months had been a rather wild ride for one Harry James Potter would be an understatement. His Fourth Year at Hogwarts had been absolutely bonkers so far, even compared to his first three years at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! In point of fact, it’d been bonkers even before he got back to Hogwarts. Apparently, this age was the age when Wizards came into their Majority, or something, because Harry had suddenly inherited a ton of titles and properties.
He was apparently not just the Heir of House Potter, but also the Heir of House Black, via his godfather, the Heir of Gryffindor via some long-off lineage tracing back to the time of the Founders, and the Heir of Slytherin through an equally ancient Conquest Clause that Salazar himself had put in. The goblins were also pretty sure he was the Heir of Merlin and some ancient family known only as House Peverell as well, but the Ministry was actually fighting them pretty hard on that one, so it was still up in the air.
On top of all of this sudden outward recognition, came a physical maturity as well. Harry’s ‘magical core’ had finally settled, or something, and he apparently had the densest, most powerful magical core ever seen. Given the young man hadn’t even known that magical cores existed before this year, well, he wasn’t entirely sure what it all meant. Supposedly, it meant he was super powerful? And he supposed he’d had a few good spells over the years, here and there.
But apparently, the only reason he wasn’t an absolute prodigy at magic was because of his terrible upbringing. Ever since the goblins had announced all of his inheritances, Harry had had a number of different people looking in on him who claimed to have his best interests at heart. Harry wasn’t entirely sure he trusted ALL of them necessarily, but the Mediwitch who had been sent to evaluate him at the beginning of the school year had seemed trustworthy enough, and so he’d been taking the Potions Regime she’d assigned to heart.
The results were incredible. He’d gained a good six inches of height overnight, filled out incredibly fast, and was able to cast magic with an ease that made all of the struggles he’d dealt with in his previous three years feel almost silly, looking back.
All of that was the good stuff though. It wouldn’t be Harry’s life if suddenly everything was all good, all the time. On top of all of that, Harry had somehow been forced into the Triwizard Tournament, despite never so much as going near the Goblet of Fire. That Dumbledore’s Age Line had been tricked was something he still didn’t fully get. The Headmaster was supposed to be the strongest, most powerful, and most knowledgeable wizard around, right?
In the end though, it hadn’t mattered so far. The First Task had been harrowing, but with his new physicality and magical prowess, kicking the Hungarian Horntail’s ass had been child’s play. He’d gotten the most points of the First Task, as a matter of fact, putting him in the lead over the three legitimate Champions. The judges had honestly looked downright annoyed that they could find no fault in what he’d done.
Of course, in the wake of such a tremendous success, you’d THINK Harry would have had an easy time finding a date to the Yule Ball. But the Wizarding World was old-fashioned, and Harry was still who he was, trying to come to terms with everything. He had, admittedly, put things off until the last minute, and then ended up making a deal with the Patil Sisters, Parvati and Padma, to go with him and Ron.
Still, the Yule Ball hadn’t been terrible. But even with all of his new power and might, Harry still had bodily functions to take care of. And so, he’d begged off to go to the bathroom maybe fifteen minutes ago, stopping on his way back to get some drinks for him, Parvati, Padma, and Ron as a way of apology for bowing out.
Only, as the well-built green-eyed young wizard approaches the table where he left Ron and their dates, he finds something odd going on. Parvati and Padma are still there… but Ron is nowhere to be seen. On top of that, the boy has been replaced by two more girls, Hermione Granger and Cho Chang. Both of whom had gone to the Yule Ball with their own dates for the evening, Harry’s fellow Champions, Viktor Krum and Cedric Diggory.
Blinking owlishly, Harry makes his way over and sets the drinks down. All four are immediately picked up by a girl apiece, and he’s glad he didn’t actually sip from the one he intended for himself on the way back. Either way, he watches as the witches all down them, before focusing on Parvati, his date. Hermione was technically his best friend… but it was still good manners to keep in mind that Parvati was his date for the evening.
“Hey Parvati… uh, what’s going on?”
As the other three girls all glare at Parvati Patil for some reason, the Indian Witch beams at him, as if he’s just saved the day somehow. Which… he’s pretty sure he hasn’t. Not today, anyways.
“Oh, nothing much. Just these three getting dumped by their dates so the boys could go off and be boys and play some late night Quidditch or something.”
Hermione, Padma, and Cho all scowl mightily at that, while Harry blinks owlishly some more. That sounded like fun… but no, he would never abandon his date to chase after the guys. That would be rude. Just as rude as Ron, Viktor, and Cedric had been, in fact. Also…
“But Cho is a Quidditch Player too?”
This point is not received with the good spirit Harry supposes he expects it to be received by. Indeed, Cho’s lower lip wobbles, and then she breaks down into tears as Padma leans over to comfort her fellow Ravenclaw. Apparently, her own Quidditch credentials had been forgotten by the guys in their pursuit to get away from the fancy party.
Parvati abruptly stands up with a grin.
“You know, I’d worried that they caught you on their way out and roped you into their little late night scheme. But here you are.”
“… Wouldn’t be right to just leave you hanging after I asked you to the Ball, Parvati.”
“Heh, the Gryffindor Golden Boy strikes again. Mm, I’m thinking you deserve a reward, Harry.”
As Parvati all but drapes herself over him, Harry blushes, unsure what to say to that. And then, as if thinking it over for a second, Parvati waves a hand in her sister’s direction.
“You can come too, Padma. We share everything together anyways.”
Looking up from comforting Cho, Padma gasps and flushes.
“P-Parvati!”
Rolling her eyes, Parvati growls.
“Fine! The others can join us. We’ll make a party of it! But! Harry is my date, so I get to go first.”
Somehow, Harry didn’t think that was what Padma meant when she called her sister’s name in that scandalized tone. Except, no sooner has Harry gotten done thinking that, then he realizes he suddenly has three pairs of speculative, considering eyes focused on him and his newly chiseled jaw and broad-chested bod.
… Why did he suddenly feel like he needed an adult?

Fifteen minutes later, Harry and the four beautifully dressed young witches have all relocated to the Room of Requirement. Located on Hogwarts’ Seventh Floor, Harry had inadvertently stumbled upon it very early on in the year, in a tale that probably sounded as fanciful as everything else that had happened so far to him this year but didn’t necessarily bear repeating.
Frankly, it wasn’t nearly as fanciful as what was happening now. This blew all of his hopes and expectations CLEAR out of the water. After asking the Room of Requirement for a large heart-shaped bed, Parvati had begun to strip, and the other girls had followed her lead.
Harry himself had been unsure what to do, but before he could decide, they’d descended upon him, and stripped him down as well. Now, he was sat on the tip of the heart shaped bed, straddling the point of it. Coming from Hermione, that’s certainly something. Of course, Cho demands her own fair share of kisses, and thankfully they aren’t too watery. The Asian Witch is eager, but her tears have long dried, and it seems she’s finally gotten over Cedric’s abandonment of her. Harry winces at the thought that he might be breaking them up with this. After all, they were the only real couple that had been boyfriend and girlfriend before the Yule Ball.
But hey, Cho was her own woman, and if she wanted to be here, who was he to judge?
