I kinda agree, with how the story is shaping out Tyrande x Rognak is a tough sell. As much as my smut brain wanna see Rognak orc her, it doesn’t contextually make sense. Right now it seems that Shandris and Jaina are logical choices for smut-fest. Perhaps by the end of frozen throne, as an epilogue chapter with a little time skip, a kind of one-shot esk moment between Tyrande and Rognak would make sense. Overall I’d say Shandris and Jaina would be his main partners going forward.

Not really. Demons are hard to kill because they are Fel entities tied to the Twisting Nether, and eventually reform there. Illidan became as much demon as Night Elf because of all the Fel energies he's absorbed over time, of which a large chunk came from the Skull of Gul'dan. In this setting, he hadn't had a chance to consume the Skull's energies yet. He's still as mortal as any other Night Elf.

Thoughts on how things go from here: At this point, things are pretty nearly wrapped up in terms of the Reign of Chaos arc. It's been some time since I've played W3, but to my memory after Illidan kills Tichondrius and consumes the Skull of Gul'dan, it goes almost directly to the assault on Nordrassil. I doubt we'll see Medivh intervene, because if he's been keeping track of things, he has no reason TO intervene. The Night Elves, Orcs and Humans are allied against the Legion, him getting involved is superfluous. Frozen Throne though, is completely fucked XD Two thirds of that expansion was Illidan centric. With him dead, and Tyrande NOT carving a bloody path through the Wardens for her to hold a grudge over, Maiev basically has nothing to do. I don't think there are any characters currently who have the power, knowledge, and motivation to raise the Tomb of Sargeras. Right now, Rognak is the only one to have ANY knowledge and interest in the events of Lordaeron, so if he wants to be doing something about that, he's going to have to get proactive with his knowledge. Cenarius could back him up, knowing what he is, but I doubt he's going to play a major role going forward. With the Legion defeated, he's got some gardening to do. Luckily, Rognak knows a name that would certainly get Jaina's attention: Kel'Thuzad. Sylvanas as the next antagonist I think is a tough sell. She hated being controlled by the Lich King almost as much as she hated Arthas on a personal level. It doesn't feel like she'd be antagonist material until WoW period, Rognak's foreknowledge or not. Like Fandrel, she's a "future" problem. Kel'Thuzad, however, is as close to perfect a Plan B as the Lich King is liable to find. He's powerful, already "loyal", and Sylvanas is even less likely to be able to kill him in an ambush as she could Arthas at this point in time. At least not permanently. On a personal level, I'm pretty sure Jaina thinks that Kel'Thuzad is dead, killed at the hands of her and Arthas. I don't think she knows that Arthas killed Uther to retrieve the necromancer's remains, and she DEFINITELY doesn't know about the near destruction of Dalaran and the death of her mentor at this point. To know that what little good Arthas achieved before his fall from grace was entirely undone would rankle her something fierce. There's also the "small" potential wrinkle that Rognak's foreknowledge brings to his relationship with Shandris, and more importantly, Tyrande. If that foreknowledge stops being his and Cenarius's little secret (which it might if Rognak tries to become more proactive about Lordaeron and Icecrown), I don't think it would be unreasonable for a grieving Tyrande to be a little... upset. We know that Rognak and Cenarius both feel kinda guilty that Malfurion was essentially "sacrificed" to have the current state of affairs. And while even he would consider that a worthy trade, as far as Tyrande knows, he wasn't allowed to make that choice. It was made for him, without his knowledge. Ten thousand years has not dulled Tyrande's ability to hold a grudge, and when her fire is set, she burns HOT. And of course, there is also the looming spectre of Admiral Daelin Proudmoore. If Rognak has knowledge of the Frozen Throne expansion, then he knows that the Lord Admiral of Kul Turas is going to eventually be on his way to reunite with his daughter, still holding a grudge against the orcs for the First and Second Wars. And if he was completely unwilling to even consider the possibility of an alliance between humans and orcs, to the point of essentially usurping Jaina at Theramore, how much more enraged would he be to find one has been "defiling" her on the regular XD This will be fun.

Thunder

As far as the character deaths go, they are bold choices but you've done a fairly good job of justifying them. Rognak preemptively targetting Arthas makes sense for what he knows. Malfurion was a bold choice, but it being Law of Unintended Consequences does fit. That WAS a very close mission in the game, so story-wise, I think it works. Relationship-wise though, I'm still not on board with Tyrande hooking up with Rognak. Thus far, it has felt like you've been making an effort to keep the characters at least pretty close to their game-canon selves (not even going to touch on the overall lore of WoW). With that, I have a hard time seeing why she, or Rognak, would do it. Tyrande and Malfurion's relationship was a BIG part of both their characters; ten thousand years is a LONG time to keep that flame alive. It's going to take quite a while for Tyrande to start moving on from her grief, certainly not before taking Cenarius up on his offer to commune with Malfurion's spirit one last time for closure. I'm uncertain that the combined time period of Reign and Frozen Throne will feel sufficient, in addition to everything else she's going to have going on. And then there's it being with Rognak in particular. Given what we've seen of him so far, I can't see him being the one to try to initiate things, he'd be too concerned with intruding on Tyrande's grief, if he was interested in her at all. And if things with Shandris go the way I suspect they will (she miiiiiight be in a liiiiiittle bit of denial about the degree of her attraction to him), I'm doubtful that Tyrande would be inclined to share in her daughter's relationship. ESPECIALLY if a certain potential plot point in my next post becomes relevant It's your story in the end, but for the time being, Tyrande remaining single by the end feels like it fits better. As far as Illidan's death itself, personally, I think complaints about relative power between him and Arthas are moot. Anybody can be taken by surprise.

That's the thing. He doesn't start calling himself a Demon Hunter until after he consumes the Skull of Gul'dan. It's only after he consumes the Skull of Gul'dan and the rest of the events of Warcraft 3 and TFT happen that he even begins training other people as Demon Hunters, making sure they get the same thing that the Skull gave him. Check out his wowpedia page: https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Illidan_Stormrage If you look under Biography, you'll notice that the title 'Demon Hunter' is not something that crops up until after he consumes the Skull of Gul'dan and after the events of TFT. Only once he returns to Outlands does he start calling himself a Demon Hunter and training other Demon Hunters. Demonic Style Immortality IS a thing that certain Demon Hunters including Illidan get, yes... because they become so much like Demons that their souls become tied to the Twisting Nether. Illidan's moment where he became a Demon and his soul was tied to the Twisting Nether ONLY came after he consumed the power of the Skull and was transformed by its effects. Before that he was a simple Night Elf Mage who was dabbling in fighting with demon armaments and the Legion's powers right up until the Sundering and getting locked up for ten thousand years. But only after he got free did he actually manage to seize demonic power for himself and become a Demon, which he then turned into being the first Demon Hunter and then spread those teachings to others.

Girador

Unless he's not a demon hunter at all at this point, His soul already does this. No Skull of Gul'Dan needed at all. Demonic style Immortality is just a thing that happens to certain people who go the path of the Demon Hunter. Illidan being one of the notable ones.

Cambrian

Illidan isn't a demon yet. He has to consume the Skull of Gul'dan first, which is when he becomes a demon. That's why his death here results in him becoming a wisp, since he's still a full Night Elf at this time. The only thing he has at this point to set him apart from other Night Elves is the fact that his eyes have been burnt out by Sargeras and replaced with little fel embers that let him see all forms of magic. But that 'gift' from the Dark Titan was not what made him a demon. Consuming the Skull of Gul'dan (which was what Arthas was trying to get him to go do before Rognak and the others ambushed them) is what turns Illidan into a Demon. That said, never say never when it comes to the Naaru and their goals. While Illidan is currently more permanently dead right now than he was in canon World of Warcraft after players killed him in the Black Temple, it's still possible that Xe'ra and the other Naaru would find a way to resurrect him around the time of the Legion Expansion, since they're still convinced he is their Chosen One.

Girador

So, unless you've made a significant change here, Illidan is still alive-ish. At no point in time has Arthas ever been capable of perma-killing Illidan. Perma-killing Illidan is insanely hard and Frostmourne is not enough. If it wouldn't Perma-kill a Demon it won't perma-kill Illidan. Now, Illidan would certainly take a while to recover from this, quite possibly until after the point at which you said this fic' ends. But Illidan is every bit as hard to kill as Mal'Ganis, for pretty much all the same reasons, and he couldn't be perma-killed by Arthas either.

Cambrian

Yeah, I'd get too bored if I couldn't have my porn tbh :P Lol, glad you're enjoying this fic!

santhinal

I will say this is not your usual stuff (given your a porn with plot writer primairly) but i have to admit, though its lower quality than what i get from the experienced writers of non porn stories this is still pretty solid and is proof you are perfectly capable of writing standard stories you jsut CHOOSE not to for the most part! :D I would rate your skill as a non-porn writer as 65/100 while the stories i normally read are around 60/100 and my minimum if i am super bored is 50/100 so you are above the average writer even in non-porn.

Cambrian

Yeah, it's irritating but also funny, because Malfurion, Arthas, and Illidan died because I was trying to make a heavier, grittier, more realistic sort of story for once. But I understand the reputation I have lol. Thanks for reading and thanks for the kind words <3

Geese

Works for me.

Cambrian

haha yeah, its been a wild ride this past week xD

Cambrian

Lol yeah, I was surprised everyone just kind of shrugged and left that intro alone without asking any questions back then, but now you all get the answers you never asked for anyways :P

Cambrian

Hehe, glad to hear it!

Cambrian

Lmao yep

Cambrian

There are multiple reasons for why the Bronzes wouldn't be involved here. The biggest one is that they aren't the AU police, they only monitor changes to the past. Outside interference is not actually under their jurisdiction despite what fanfiction likes to flanderize them as, or else the Bronzes would show up at every Legion invasion. It's sort of a fanon fallacy that the Bronzes have to show up to stop every Self-Insert that ever shows up in Warcraft tbh. Essentially, the Bronze Dragons won't be showing up in this fic at all, so you can pick whatever head canon you want for why that's the case. Either the above option, or hell, Omni-Cam is stopping them from interfering if you really want that to be the reason heh

Commenting on the AN, i think many like me, saw malfurion death as abad omen, as in that it was only a way to get the MC to get with Tyrande. I admit i initially had that same though. I mean, you might remember i commented at the start of this story that i loved how you wrote great smut, but that i aways saw potential for more. And this story shows that REALLY well. But then something of a common Flag to simplistic "F*c* every female character" like a important male character death, and well, i kinda feared for the worse? I am assuaged by now that is not what it is, but by the time this chapter comes out, many readers might. I mean, Arthas, Illidan and Malfurion? It does seem targeted. This is what i think might be the reson for the low ratings, but hang on, i believe you will overcome it, and other readers will still give this a chance for longer Thanks for the chapter, looking foward to next chapter!

Geese

So. Not a ROB but a SOB. Alrighty then. Love the story. Has there been an explanation for why the time dragons aren’t showing up? Just curious if I missed something.

T4ndoris

Damn Cenarius had a reverse Uno card all this time? Unexpected but welcomed nonetheless lmao

Dracontorrin

This time will only comment on your A/N, as the chapter was in short kinda infodump and that is all - chapter needed and prerfecly understable considering what has been happening past last week, - well this is to be expected - you basically slew three main lore characters, important due to edge fluff or simply because Alliance fanboys xd (started leaning into alliance myself since last two expansions so glass houses etc xd)

Jake Griffith

Man. It's weird doubling back and reading stuff with the proper context. I remember being confused by the intro in chap 1, and now I'm enlightened.

Adam Daw

This was truly cathartic. Heading off Fandral, and dealing with Tichondrius. Good things should indeed happen
