Darendarus

I hope she loses that Night Elf arrogance by the end of this. Or dies. I'm ok with either.

RanmaChaos

Thanks for another excellent chapter

Cambrian

Well, it's important to remember that Rognak is at least in part an SI/off-shoot of me. And my SIs are notorious for thinking they know what's going on or that they have everything under control for a reason. It's a character flaw. One that I'm aware of and just love to incorporate into my SIs so I can torment them (myself?) all the more :P

Cqys

I dunno how much I'd rely on "general gists" anymore after such a general gist ended up with Illidan dead. That would have definitely given me pause in thinking I'm not really sure about much of anything anymore.

Cambrian

He's too curious to do that. He wants to see what comes next for a Maiev Shadowsong without Illidan Stormrage to chase after. So he's humoring her for the moment, because he feels like he has her measure thanks to his second set of memories heh. Like a kitten with claws :P

Tristan R Mitchell

Rognak owes her nothing and should have told her so. Tell her to fuck off and alert Cenarius and Tyrande of her assault upon his person.

Cambrian

Heh, then you'll be happy to know Naisha plays a small part in the next story arc!

Thunder

Honestly? I'm kinda less interested in seeing what you do with Maiev (even if I think she'll be a bit more reasonable overall due to not going through all the shit she did in the games, she still doesn't like anybody, period), and more about what you potentially do with her second, Naisha. Poor girl got shafted in the games, and not in a good way.

Cambrian

Maiev wouldn't have killed him under most circumstances is his read on the situation. A less than 0.1% chance that she for some reason decides to assassinate him for no gain whatsoever is something he was willing to risk. Like I said, he fully believes he has Maiev's measure over all, but is also really interested in seeing how she develops without Illidan as her archnemesis. Hence treating her with the kiddie gloves

TheSinful

Except he knows the general gist of Maiev and who she is (and has been for 10k years) isn't gonna change much from "Illidan dead early". Especially since the things she truly hated him for never occurred.

Cambrian

Ooooh. Yeh, you'll find out tomorrow :P

CelticMonk

What a sanctimonious cunt. The temerity to question her leaders and be offended at the loss of a drain on her peoples resources like Illidan beggars belief. Really shows how unhinged she is.

Stostri

The difference is, Illidan looks good. Maiev is secretly blushing under her helmet and imagining him Jojo posing every time she mentions he's a threat.

Stostri

Oh no I'm quite familiar with Maiev. I meant who they're going to be hunting exactly.

Darkanlan

Too much relying on in game characterization is a bad thing. Always better to treat new life with only a hint of expectations based on how the game went and remember every change destroys the world you once knew. He easily could have died there and treating reality as a game isn't going to do him any favors long run.

Yurien

Is sad the world of Maiev is too small to see the real threats.

Cambrian

If you mean "who is Maiev" then all you really need to know is what was already established in this chapter. Maiev was in charge of the prison that was literally built around Illidan, but she was away on a mission when he was released and subsequently killed. So now she's irate lmao

Cambrian

Maiev: "No... no it's definitely Illidan."

Cambrian

You'll see more of Rognak's thought processes at the start of the next chapter, but what it basically boils down to is curiosity. If he didn't know Maiev could be very prickly from his last life he'd probably have responded more strongly to this, but since he thinks he knows her... now he's curious to find out what she'll be like without Illidan as her foil.

Pipeman

Look, at least your faction leaders are generally gonna help you fight those rather than protect them, lol.

Darkanlan

If you wake up to a knife to the throat, it's either you're about to be dead or captured by an enemy. There's no chance of him fighting back there being seen as bad by any of their new allies after having just fought together against the burning legion. Especially when it comes out that Maiev wasn't even there to fight at Hyjal and only showed up after to attack the people who fought the legion. It'd end badly for the Kaldorei no matter how this turns with her being one of their leaders so long as they don't either kill her or hand her over to them for her actions. Which isn't bad for him. It could push them to have to make more concessions towards his group and help him grow his new budding faction with them.

Stostri

I'm more wondering 'who'

TheSinful

Because Maiev is still a respected leader of a powerful faction/organization? And because "beating the shit" out of such a leader of a brand new ally is a really bad idea? And because it's far less hassle to simply try placating first?

TheSinful

Maiev: "Illidan is the greatest threat we've ever known." C'thun, Archimonde, Kil'jaeden, Sargeras, Azshara, Yogg-saron, Xavius: "Am I a fucking joke to you?"

Darkanlan

Why is he bending over and letting her fuck him in the ass like that with her demands? He should have knocked her on her ass and then beaten the shit out of her alerting everyone what was happening. Tyrande would finally have a reason to deal with Maiev and no one could say her causing war with their allies is something that can be overlooked. Especially now that their people are mortal again and her only ally against Tyrande was the traitor Fandral. Everyone will consider her to be another traitor and a good chance to get rid of another split faction of the Kaldorei.
