She pauses at that, and then looks at him curiously.
“Figured… what out?”
Shirou opens his mouth, fully intending on telling Rin about his epiphany. That he was a harem protagonist. That more than that, he was a comedy harem protagonist. Beside her, Ereshkigal proceeds to do a spit take, having been not to surreptitiously listening in on his and Rin’s conversation. The two Sabers on the other hand, don’t hear a single word. Or at least, they don’t react in any way.

“Yep. That’s exactly right. Want me to do the same for you and Ereshkigal, Rin?”
Both of them freeze up at that, with Shirou smirking, happy to have caught Rin off-guard. The tsundere sputters in response, shaking her head wildly.

“Great… because there’s something you all have to decide now. Essentially… how are you going to do this?”
Wait, what? Shirou tilts his head to the side, while Rin is the one to actually ask the question suddenly on their minds.
“You’re the Acting Director, aren’t you? Shouldn’t you be the one telling us how to do this?”
Letting out a laugh, Dr. Roman raises his hands in surrender.
“Oh, of course. I’ll be helping out all along the way and guiding you to your objectives. Let me clarify… there are two routes we can take from here. There are numerous Singularities that need to be explored and resolved before we can fix what that bastard did. So our options are to either divide and conquer… or bum rush each Singularity with overwhelming firepower. Basically, do you lot want to split up and cover more ground, or try and rely on one another all working together to complete each Singularity faster?”
Oh. That made sense. Shirou hums, scratching the back of his head and looking at the others. Hmm, what WAS the best choice here? Each set of Master and Servant going into their own Singularities, or all three pairs doing the same Singularity together to make it a guaranteed thing?
On the one hand, the first option meant they had a better chance of getting this done faster. On the other hand, the second option meant they had a better chance of getting it done at all…

I’m not sure how I feel about Shirou attaining this level of self-awareness… Also, while I don’t want to split the party and potentially miss out on fun stuff, I think as a player I would appreciate each singularity being more of a challenge, so I’m voting for that.

Listen the reason you get to survive without Goetia instantly kicking your ass in is because you're slow going one at a time, there's a reason why the Demon takes till Singularity 4 to even show up. Secondly Chaldea needs to focus in and find all the Singularities they don't immediately know where each one is it's the explanation for all the events is their still taking time.

The second option would allow Shirou to be part of all the plots and they have three (four of Sakura joins) masters involved instead of just one. So they should have a much easier time than canon Ritsuka. Also, with Shirou around they can exploit the harem comedy logic.
