New Free Write Coming Soon!
🕑 Added 2023-04-07 23:00:03 +0000 UTCHey guys, just wanted to give you all a heads up about my next Free Write. It's starting on Monday, heh.
As I mentioned in the Afterword for Breaking Providence Book 1, my next Free Write will not be an immediate jump in to Book 2, but will still feature an Orc MC funnily enough.
Having spent the last week writing up the story outline and having written Chapter 1 today, I'm confident now that I'll be moving forward with the project I had in mind, so I'm sharing it with you guys here.
The next Free Write Project I do is going to be a Warcraft Insert.
I've been inspired by several of the Warcraft Inserts I've been reading over on Spacebattles the past several months, and I have an over ten year history with World of Warcraft that has always begged to be scratched like an itch that won't go away.
The idea is thus:
Summary: The Orcs and Night Elves didn't have to be enemies. If not for some bad decisions on the part of the Orcs, perhaps things could have been different. With an Orc Druid thrown into the mix with foreknowledge from another world determined not to let things happen the same way they did before, things WILL be different.
So yeah, basically Orc Druid SI is the idea. The events covered in the story will be a very AU take on Warcraft 3 and its expansion, the Frozen Throne.
However, I'm also trying something a little different this time around. Namely, I'm writing a more plot-focused story than I have previously on my Patreon. To put things in perspective, the story is 61 plot chapters and 9 smut chapters, with the smut specifically put into its own chapters so that the story can be read without it if that's what you want.
I intend to use this to let me post the SFW version of the story up on Spacebattles and Royalroad as well, to expand the audience for this fic.
That said, I'm thinking that the update schedule for this fic will be Mon-Wed-Fri like Breaking Providence was, since I got used to that way of doing things. However, because the smut chapters are separate from the plot chapters and aren't going to be posted on Spacebattles, I'm thinking they'll go up in between the normal update days on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday whenever one pops up.
Anyways, I think that's all I have to say at the moment. Chapter 1 will be up on Monday, and I hope you guys enjoy it.
This might not be the most popular of my Free Writes, given Warcraft has lost much of its popularity over the years, but I've been seeing something of a renaissance of Warcraft Inserts of late, which gives me hope that there is some interest in it.
For those who I know will ask, here's a list of all of the Warcraft Inserts I've read and wholeheartedly recommend, to tide you over until Monday ;P
Lost Lion (Lothar's Son Insert)
Concentrated Firepower (Gilnean Noble Insert)
Damned if I do (Worm/Warcraft Cross)
An Order of Amber (Gilnean Witch Insert)
No Rest for the Damned (Scourge Insert)
A Nerubian's Journey (Nerubian Insert)

I'm glad you're branching out like this, you are an excellent writer and will only continue to improve.
Zarroc789
I am looking forward to it. Both as a fan of your work, and a long time Warcraft player. To see you branching out is very good in my opinion. I love your smut, but you have a lot of talent.
Cambrian
Not entirely sure if it will be or not. I'm definitely going to try to make it as friendly as possible, but you'll have to tell me how I do when you get the chance to read it!
Aoiishi
Honestly I don't know much about Warcraft as I was never into it, but I know the gist of it. I'm wondering if it will be friendly to those that aren't that familiar with the lore specifically or if it will really rely on foreknowledge to get stuff.

Maybe one day! Have to be inspired and really grabbed by an idea first tbh

Hmmm... something modern would be nice as well to see at one point. Heck, it may still include fantasy elements like Orcs, but in a more modern setting, like a Modern D20 sort of deal.
LeoTheSage
Sounds like fun

Maybe not Amazon then but seriously you are an amazing writer would love to see more of your work.
Cambrian
This is going to be even more plot driven than Breaking Providence even! BP was like 20% smut, this one is only 8% smut heh. Hopefully I still manage to impress my readers!
Cambrian
Heh yeah, WoW was my jam for most of my teenage/young adult life in fact. Easily ten years of my life spent in that game. I'd say this fic is even more for me than my free writes usually are, maybe
Cambrian
Heck yeah, then this one will hopefully work well for you!
Cambrian
I haven't, I'll go seek it out!

I've just heard so much bad shit about Amazon. Things like them forcing you to remove the story from anywhere else on the internet, or even some writers literally being charged money because readers read their books and then return them and Amazon puts the chargeback on the writer. Just turns me off to the whole thing tbh
Cqys
You say more plot driven but providence was already far more plot driven and it worked out well.
Keeper
You played WoW or Warcraft 3 before this idea?
Osiris Sundavr
Really excited for your new free write. I like your fics sure, but I’m looking forward to a more plot driven story from you.

Have you read I am Murloc?

You should really consider putting some work on Amazon or something you are a very impressive writter and I would buy your work....though I suppose that I am already but you know what I mean.
