“She’s back.”
Lucien lifts a brow as Blackfire appears in the doorway, a frown etched on her face. She clearly wasn’t very happy.
“She?”
Obviously, he hadn’t known for sure whether anything would come of his offer last night. And he certainly hadn’t expected to get a response the very next day. But at the end of the day, ‘she’s back’ could really only refer to two women at the moment.
“The crazy one.”
His second eyebrow rises to join the first at that.
“Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?”
But Blackfire just huffs and rolls her eyes. In the end… he knows who she means. Sure, both Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn could be said to be mentally unwell. But only one of them truly lived in a state of craziness that normal people could only dream of.
Chuckling at Blackfire’s response, Lucien leans back in his chair.
“Alright, send her in.”
Frowning, Blackfire crosses her arms over her chest.
“Is this really a good idea?”
But to that, Lucien just shakes his head.
“It’s a little bit late for that, isn’t it? I already let the cat out of the bag when I said I could do it. If I don’t follow through on my word now, then we’re going to have a body to dispose of… likely multiple. And that will only draw more attention our way than we already have on us.”
Indeed, maybe it was dumb of him to think he could truly lie low here in Gotham under the umbrella of protection that being associated with Lex Corp should have provided him. But alas, the cat was halfway out of the bag now. Even if Lucien hadn’t stood up to Ivy and Harley at The Ocelot, they still would have kidnapped him for Black Mask. Even if he hadn’t gone to the press after his escape, everyone at The Ocelot would have questioned how he got away.
Still, not all was lost. For the time being, everyone just thought Ivy and Harley had been nice enough to let him go last night. If he started stonewalling Harley though, Lucien imagined he could expect an attack on his clinic by the clown-themed woman by the end of the day, and then there’d be way more questions than he really wanted to answer.
Blackfire doesn’t like it, but she’s his henchwoman and he’s her boss. In the end, she nods sharply and departs to do as she’s told. A few moments later and the woman of the hour steps into his office. She’s dressed a lot differently than last night. But to be fair, last night she was trying to pass herself off as a doctor. Today she’s unabashedly Harley Quinn. Hair done up in different colored pigtails. Clown makeup covering her face. And a black and red leather vest and pair of pants ‘covering’ her body.
“… You did come in through the sewer again, right?”
The thought of Harley showing up at his doorstep in broad daylight dressed as she is now causes Lucien no small amount of anxiety. It would probably be just as bad as her attacking the clinic in broad daylight instead.
Fortunately, she beams and nods happily at his query. Doubly fortunately, discretion takes time so the workers who are coming to fix his sewer entrance ‘no questions asked’ won’t be here until later this evening where they can arrive under the cover of darkness and work without being seen.
Of course, this does mean there’s still a big gaping hole in the parking garage, but Lucien has no rich clientele lined up for today, so it’s not like anyone else is using the clinic’s private parking garage anyways.
“Wonderful. Kamara, leave us.”
There’s a brief pause as Blackfire gives Harley a withering stare. It fails to have the effect that she’s going for though, judging by the big smile and cheery wave that the villainess gives her in response. With one final huff, Blackfire steps out and closes the door behind her, leaving him alone with Harley in his office.
Lucien isn’t that worried. He has something Harley wants, after all. And even if she does get violent, he’s prepared to defend himself.
“I presume you’ve had time to think over my offer then. Or did you have further questions?”
Harley, who had been looking around the room for a moment, snaps back to him with an intense stare, even as she all but skips over to his desk, circling it… and hopping up to sit that fat ass of hers on the edge so she can kick her feet back and forth.
“Nope! No questions. I’m here so you can do exactly what you said you would do yesterday!”
Lucien hums and nods, only for Harley to switch demeanors in a second.
“But you better ONLY do that, got it Mister Doctor? I don’t want you to try to ‘cure’ me or make me ‘better’. I like being Harley Quinn! I just don’t want the Joker to ever be in my life again, if I can help it. That’s where you come in.”
Lifting an eyebrow, Lucien quirks the side of his mouth up.
“You know… some would argue that there is no Harley Quinn without the Joker.”
Harley puffs her cheeks out at that, looking distinctly huffy for a moment. Her arms come up and cross over her chest defensively. She opens her mouth… but to his surprise, she apparently thinks better of it, glancing to the side for a moment. Lucien hadn’t thought the crazed villainess had it in her to second guess her thoughts before running her mouth, but it seemed he’d just been corrected on that belief.
“… Yeah. Well, maybe once upon a time they woulda been right. But I’ve worked hard to separate myself from Mistah J. I’m my own person, and that’s Harley Quinn, full stop! I don’t need the Joker anymore… or at least, I won’t once you’re done with me. Can you do it, or were you full of hot air? You helped Waylon, but can you really help me? Can you get rid of the Joker without getting rid of what makes me… me?”
She goes from introspective, to confident, to questioning and threatening, to small and uncertain so fast that Lucien can’t help feeling a sense of tonal whiplash. Still, fortunately the answer is the same no matter what.
“I can.”
Harley stares at him for a moment longer before thrusting her hand out in his direction, palm up.
“Then… do it!”
He has to admit, he really wasn’t expecting Harley Quinn to come around so quickly. Maybe he should have seen this coming though. The villainess was incredibly impulsive, as seen with the weird little infiltration she’d tried to pull off last night. Still, smiling softly, Lucien reaches out and takes Harley’s hand in his own.
“It would be my pleasure.”
It’s not exactly difficult, though it is more complicated than what he’d done when he’d given Blackfire amnesia back in Jump City. In fact, Lucien wouldn’t even be able to do what he’s doing right now if it wasn’t for Raven. While making himself half-demon was right out, enough time and hard work had allowed him to separate Raven’s empath abilities from her half-demon physiology.
He himself wasn’t necessarily an empath, at least not on the level of Raven, but his main power now had the ability to sense and separate powerful emotions in others’ minds. Specifically, looking into Harley’s brain, Lucien can see the Joker’s influence.
In spite of all of Harley’s best efforts, it’s immediately obvious that the Joker is still the most important person in her life. Despite trying her hardest to separate herself from him, her own mind is betraying her. All of her memories involving the Joker are one big angry mass of red in her psyche, leaving it impossible for her to ever truly move on so long as there’s even a remote chance that he might show up again.
Fortunately, that’s where Lucien comes in. He can’t just block Harley’s memories of the Joker and call it a day, because then she wouldn’t be Harley Quinn anymore. And while whatever was left of her might not be upset with him if he did that, Poison Ivy definitely would be. Lucien had no desire to deal with an enraged Ivy trying to get revenge on him for ‘destroying her friend’. Talk about counterproductive.
Instead of blocking Harley’s memories of the Joker… he dampens them. Stripping the memories of their emotion, something he couldn’t have done before, is child’s play now. It’s like taking the color out of a movie and turning it black and white. It’s like turning the memories from something that happened to Harley, to something she read about in a storybook.
She’s not forgetting anything… but at the same time, she IS forgetting how to care about the Joker or feel anything positive to him whatsoever. After this point, there will be two distinct versions of Harley Quinn. The former, who was all too dependent on the Joker… and the latter, who truly doesn’t need the Joker to be herself and to be happy with who she is.
By the time Lucien is done, Harley is just starting to get antsy, squirming as he holds her hand in his.
“Umm… are you gonna do somethin’ soon or what?”
Smiling, Lucien looks up at her and leans back in his chair.
“It’s already done.”
Harley’s brow furrows in confusion and her nose wrinkles rather cutely.
“Huh? Whatcha mean by that? You were going to remove the Joker from my mind. You said that. But I still remember him.”
Still smiling, Lucien shakes his head.
“You do. You’d have to in order to still be Harley Quinn. We both know the Joker is too instrumental to your origins to possibly change that. However… I want you to think hard about the Joker for a moment, Harley. Think about what you feel for him. Think about how you’d feel about him escaping from Arkham and coming to find you.”
Frowning, the villainess nevertheless does as she’s told. Her face scrunches up in thought and her lips curl downwards into a frown as she contemplates the man who made her who she is today.
Slowly, her eyes begin to widen.
“He… he doesn’t have a hold on me anymore.”
Lucien’s smile turns into a full-blown grin as Harley’s jaw drops open from the realization.
“I don’t give two shits about that asshole! I mean, it’d be bad if he got out of Arkham and came for me… but I’d sooner stab him in the dick then go back to him! In fact, the next time I see him, I WILL stab him in the dick!”
That last part, when spoken out loud with soul-deep certainty, causes Harley to freeze up for a long moment before she looks back to him.
“H-Holy shit… you did it. You actually did it. There’s not a single part of me that yearns for him anymore. He doesn’t… his hold on me is just gone.”
Yes, he did do good work, didn’t he? Lucien can’t help but be rather pleased with himself. Sure, Harley didn’t have much in the way of power to offer him from her physiology. There was some minor superhuman strength and durability there, probably what allowed her to survive all of the zany hijinks she got up to, but beyond that she was just a baseline human. Crazy, but baseline.
And yet… he was glad he could help her. He was proud that he’d been able to assist her in getting out from under the Joker’s thumb, once and for all.
“I’m happy that-mmph!”
Of course, he’s a little caught off guard when Harley practically lunges off of the desk and into his lap. Wrapping her arms around his neck and mashing her lips against his, Lucien almost takes her initial move as an attack before swiftly realizing that she’s kissing him. Though, given who her best friend is, a kiss could also be an attack.
But no. Lucien senses none of Ivy’s toxins on Harley’s bright red lips, nor any sort of trap or danger at all as the beautiful, leather-clad harlequin decides to climb into his lap. The villainess moans against his lips, kissing him hungrily and almost desperately, while squirming on top of him until his hands go to her ass and anchor her, keeping her from falling off.
Once he’s gripping her butt through her leather pants, Harley gets even more excited, kissing him harder while also rubbing her crotch into his. Before he lets a bulge form from her enthusiastic movements, however, Lucien does force the lip lock to end, looking Harley in the eye as she pouts upon being pulled back.
“What? C’mon, don’t tell me you’re not up for a little physical gratitude. You just helped me out massively, doc! Let me return the favor and give you a bit of loving, yeah? Ain’t nobody own me anymore except for me. Not the Joker, not nobody. So when I say I wanna ride you till the cows come home, you can trust I mean it!”
Oh, Lucien doesn’t doubt that. He can tell how much she means it, even though the villainess is crazier than a sack full of cats. But that’s just it. Does he really want to get into a sexual relationship with Harley Quinn of all people? There’s a reason they say ‘don’t stick your dick in crazy’ after all.
… Ah, who is he kidding? He can handle her. He’s already stuck his dick in Blackfire, and she was pretty crazy too when they first met.
Grinning, Lucien rises from his chair, causing Harley’s eyes to widen a bit as he not only matches her energy but reveals some of his true strength by lifting her up into the air with him without any indication of strain. Her legs clamp around his waist and she moans happily as he squeezes her ass with one hand and grabs hold of the back of her neck with the other.
This time, Lucien is the one who initiates the kiss, his tongue going deep into Harley’s mouth as he matches her freak. She wanted to fuck? He’d fuck her alright. And hey, maybe he’d learn something that he could use on Death in his ultimate quest to make the beautiful Endless cum.
Only one way to find out, really, and it wasn’t turning down an offer like Harley’s just because he was scared or something!

While I can't wait to see what a newly "cured" Harley is thinking and feeling as Lucien fucks her silly - hopefully far better than The Joker ever might have - I do hope that one thing we'll see happen is Harley start integrating more of her old Harleen personality into her better self; while I don't believe that Harley's insanity is cured, I like to think that the most extreme elements of Harley's disturbed psyche is related to a constant clash of her "love" and hate feelings for The Joker, so Lucien's efforts will now allow Harley to gain back a level of calmness and rationality that will make her both more and less dangerous when provoked.

Why do I have a feeling that a pissed off Ivy, finding Harley gone but having a pretty good idea where she went, is going to show up moments after Harley and Lucien are finished, jump to conclusions and Lucien is going to have to talk real fast in order to prevent a fight lol.
