Not for the first time, Poison Ivy wonders what the hell she’s doing right now. Tending to the Wayne Estate as their live-in Groundskeeper? Since when did her entire world turn on its damn head?
Well, no… she knew the answer to that, didn’t she? The world had stopped making sense right around the time that she’d sent Harley off with a specialized toxin designed to allow the crazy woman to turn Bruce Wayne into her lovesick thrall. It should have been child’s play. Harley would have her sugar daddy, and Ivy would sleep better knowing that another rich fucker who didn’t care about the environment had got what was coming to him.
And yeah sure, Wayne Industries was maybe a little bit better than most of its competitors. But being the nicest corporation was like being the nicest serial killer. And no, that wasn’t hypocritical. Fuck you.
Anyways, that little scheme had not gone according to plan, mostly because Harley had gone and fallen in love with the target. Instead of enthralling Bruce Wayne, she’d fallen for him hard, and before Ivy knew it, she was getting a call from Harley letting her know the whole thing was off.
Ivy might have blown a gasket and cut all ties with Harley right then and there if it wasn’t for the other piece of news that the woman dropped on her. Harley was pregnant… and Bruce Wayne was the father. Needless to say, finding that out had left Ivy’s head spinning. She hadn’t known what to think. On the one hand, she was happy for Harley. On the other hand, she kind of wanted to go and kill Bruce Wayne.
Harley had talked her down. Rather, she’d gone ahead and talked Ivy into giving him a ‘chance’. On top of talking up Bruce’s skills in bed, Harley had also waxed poetic about how he was actually a much better man than he seemed. The party boy façade was, according to Harley, just that… a façade. Underneath it, he was actually a very kind, conscientious sort of man.
Needless to say, Poison Ivy didn’t buy that for one second. Sure, Harley would be better positioned than most to know the ‘real’ Bruce Wayne… but what if it was a double bluff? What if the party boy act was one layer… and the kind, conscientious man was another? And deep down inside, Bruce Wayne was exactly what he looked like… a callous, rich businessman who’d made billions off of the expense of the planet, just like everyone else in his income bracket.
Still, Harley had made Ivy promise she’d give him a chance. And in turn, Ivy had made Harley promise that she would have an opportunity to investigate him… personally.
With Harley’s help, they’d gotten Ivy hired as the Wayne Estate’s Groundskeeper. And so Ivy had spent the last few weeks getting the measure of Bruce Wayne. One could learn a lot about someone by how they treated those beneath them. And what was more beneath a rich businessman like Bruce Wayne than the plant life that made his massive mansion and grounds look so damn good?
… And yet, at every corner, the bastard had impressed her. Now obviously Ivy herself didn’t get many opportunities to talk to Wayne. Instead, most of her communications went through his butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Still, Ivy, disguised as ‘Pammy Violet’, had done everything she could to test Bruce Wayne and his butler.
Harley had pushed back against anything too bad, but that hadn’t stopped Ivy from making all of the necessary demands to improve the health of the Wayne Estate’s greenery. Things that most humans would have considered ‘irrelevant’ and ‘not important’. Things that mattered, even if the rest of the human race didn’t think they did.
Despite that, however, Alfred and thus Wayne had acquiesced to every single one of her demands. They’d given her an open-ended budget and hadn’t so much as blinked an eye so far, even though her spending had rapidly broken six figures and then kept rising. By this point, she’d be over a million spent by the end of the month, and they were… just okay with it.
There were also the less important things too, like the glimpses Ivy had gotten of Bruce Wayne interacting with his young charges. The man had adopted multiple orphans at this point, on top of having a flesh and blood son. One might think his reasons for doing so would range from either downright nasty to simply pragmatic and cutthroat, but as far as Ivy had been able to tell, he actually cared about each and every one of them, the bastard.
Not that she cared all that much about how humans treated humans, even the younger ones. They were all destined to do irreparable harm to the environment after all. Still… it was another mark in Bruce Wayne’s favor, damn it. And that meant… well, that meant there was just one last test for her to do.
Of course, in order to carry out such a test, Poison Ivy needed to get Bruce alone. She needed his butler and those kids to be away too so there weren’t any unintended witnesses. That took time to arrange, but finally… she’d done it.
“What was it you wanted to show me, Ms. Violet?”
“This tree.”
Ivy leads Wayne over to the tree in question. It’s a big one, huge and with a thick trunk. Of course, when she’d first gotten ‘hired on’, it had just begun dying. Something had started poisoning its roots. She’d brought it to the attention of Pennyworth and Wayne, expecting them to do nothing and force her to act, but then just like that they’d taken her concerns seriously and handled it practically overnight. Apparently, there was some old human construction underground that they thought might be to blame. It was always humans, in the end.
Regardless, now the tree was stronger than ever. Perfect for her purposes.
“This one? Is it hurting again?”
Huh, he’d remembered. Ivy frowns, hating how authentic his concern sounds. But… whatever.
“No, it’s fine. That’s not why I wanted to show it to you.”
Before Bruce Wayne can react, Ivy pulls the zipper on her coveralls… and steps out of them, exposing her naked body in all its glory. It’d been a bitch and a half to develop an organic chemical capable of getting rid of the light green tinge in her skin for this undercover operation, but she’d done it. “Call me Pam.”
Then, she begins to draw him backwards, stepping casually back towards the tree as she tugs him with her. He goes without much resistance, but he does look torn.
“Ms. Violet… rather, Pam… I’m not sure we can do this. I’m already in a committed relationship.”
Ugh. Harley had warned her that he might say that. Fortunately, the answer was simple. It even had the benefit of being true. Raising a single brow and smirking, Ivy scoffs.
“Who do you think put me up to this, Mister Wayne? Harriet was the one who recommended me, after all.”
For a long moment, Bruce Wayne looks… conflicted. Ivy wonders if the man will figure out who she and Harley really are. It’s not like they’ve done THAT much to hide it. Beyond altering their physical looks, their disguises are paper thin. And Ivy personally doesn’t have much tied up in keeping up the charade. Except for the fact that it’ll make Harley sad. Ugh.
“If you’re worried about upsetting her, don’t be. We have her blessing, Bruce. So fuck me. Show me a taste of what she’s been bragging about for weeks.”
He lets out a sigh at that… and then suddenly, Ivy is in the air. Her eyes widen as big, strong hands grab hold of her ass and lift her up, pushing her back against the tree trunk mere inches behind her now. A gasp tears its way from her lips, even as Bruce is the one to initiate the kiss this time around.

My headcannon is that Selina was already pregnant way before any of them and that she was relaxing in the Wayne villa somewhere in Europe.
