“You probably think I’m compromised. I’m not. The healing was part of my undercover investigation into Luke Maximillian and Lex Luthor’s plans for Gotham. He doesn’t know he healed me, or that I used to be Batgirl.”
There’s a brief pause at that, before Bruce responds. When he does, it’s by doing what he does best… striking where his opponent least expects it.
“But Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy now know that the original Batgirl is back in the field, don’t they?”
Barbara flushes at that, having no real… defense for that particular decision. She’d been too rushed and too damn worried to really pause and consider what it meant for her to just show up in her old costume again. But still…
“Who talked? Did Canary or Huntress tell you?”
Bruce doesn’t answer, leaving her to wonder. Had her girls betrayed her (likely out of concern for her safety) or did Bruce find out another way? Damn it all, he knew it was going to eat at her until she figured it out.
Striding forward until he’s next to her, Bruce peers at the news report she’d been watching before he arrived for a long moment. Then, he turns to her.
“This is getting out of hand, Barbara.”
“I have it under control!”
“Do you? Does ‘Hope Laville’ have Doctor Maximillian well in hand?”
Barbara blushes and looks away to the side. She’s not even surprised that he seems to know everything. He always does.
After another moment, Bruce reaches out and puts a hand on her shoulder.
“You’ll need to tell your father you’re up and walking again at some point.”
“… Yeah, I know.”
“But it can wait until the end of your investigation, if you need it to.”
Barbara’s eyes widen and her head snaps back around, looking at Bruce in surprise. He stares back at her, as calm and collected as ever.
“It’s not weakness to need help sometimes, Barbara. You and Dick taught me that lesson a long time ago. So please, be honest with both of us when you answer my next question. Do you need my help with this investigation?”
Swallowing thickly, Barbara hesitates for a moment as she thinks it over.

Nowhere in particular really Lucian isn't trying to create problems in Gotham, the supervillans he has recruited haven't created any problems since they joined him and he is in Gotham to avoid Lex. While Batman would keep an eye on him because he isn't quick to trust, he also isn't quick to judge and wouldn't create problems for Lucian simply because he isn't a hero.
