This couldn’t be happening. She was having a bad dream. None of this was real. Any moment now, Weiss Schnee would wake up back in the auditorium they’d been forced to all sleep in last night and find out that the entire Initiation hadn’t even happened yet.

No… no, she needed to stop thinking of this as reality. This was all just a dream. This all had to be a dream.

Weiss flinches, not having realized she’d been muttering under her breath. Slowly lifting her head, she stiffens when she realizes she’s being eyed up by all three of her new… teammates. Ugh. Team Cowboy of all things too!
Yang is the one who spoke up, of course. Grinning with her arms crossed under her chest to emphasize her fat cow tits, the blonde, who Weiss is reluctantly forced to admit is gorgeous, has a twinkle in her purple eyes.
“C’mon you three! What’s wrong? We won! We passed initiation and killed some gnarly looking Grimm while doing it! What the hell is there to mope around about? We should be celebrating our victory!”
Weiss blinks at that, only just then looking at the others and picking up on what Yang had already noticed. Namely, Cole and Blake don’t seem all too happy about this either. Cole is staring daggers at Blake, while Blake is squirming on her own bed trying to ignore his looks.
Suddenly, Team CWBY’s sole male member stands up, snapping his fingers in Blake’s direction.
“Belladonna. With me.”
Blake freezes in place, though for some reason Weiss notices the bow on top of her head twitches like it has a mind of its own. Finally, shoulders slumped in resignation, she rises from the bed. Technically Cole IS the team leader, so he has the right to give them orders. But still…
“H-Hold on a second! Where are you going?!”
Weiss stands up as she demands answers, hands clenched into fists at her sides. She might not be happy about this current state of affairs, but she’d be damned if she was going to just be a wallflower!
“Gotta agree with Weiss. We’re a team now and you guys are already going off on your lonesome? What gives?”
Cole’s eyes are hidden behind those sunglasses of his, but his expression makes it clear he’s not amused by their interrogation as he looks between them.
“Belladonna and I have something to work out between ourselves. We’ll be right back. You two stay here and wait for us. I am team leader after all, aren’t I?”
From his arched tone, it’s abundantly obvious that Cole both doesn’t think much of being team lead… but also is more than willing to abuse the position whenever he sees fit. Weiss flushes and watches on in silence as Cole leads Blake out of the dorm room. For a split second, silence falls before Yang suddenly scoffs.
"Screw that. Let’s follow them.”
Troublemaker. That’s Yang Xiao Long in a nutshell, isn’t it? It might as well be written on her damn forehead! Still… damn it all, Weiss was willing to buck the rules and go off the reservation, just this once. She gives Yang a solid nod, which makes the blonde grin giddily. Of course, as they head for the door, Weiss also gives the blonde a withering stare.
“Don’t think I’m ignoring the fact that you called me ‘Weiss-cream’ by the way. Do NOT give me frivolous nicknames going forward, or there WILL be consequences.”
Yang lets out a sheepish laugh at that, shrugging her shoulders. But she doesn’t, Weiss pointedly notices, actually bother to apologize. Hmph.
Together, the two of them carefully follow Cole and Blake’s path out of their dorm room and down the hall. They have to be subtle, which is something Weiss has her doubts about Yang’s capability for, but in the end, they manage to sneak after the other two members of their team relatively quietly.
Finally, Weiss hears familiar voices coming from inside of an empty lecture hall with the door slightly ajar. Her and Yang exchange a look before creeping closer to hear what Cole and Blake are talking about.
“You knew how teams would be decided, didn’t you? She told you.”
“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t lie to me. Since it seems I’m stuck with your either way, let’s lay our cards on the table. I know Goodwitch has you spying on me.”
Weiss blinks at Cole’s confident, blunt accusation. The Headmistress? Why would she have one of them spying on the other? What for? Blake tries to deny it of course, but the WAY she denies it is very telling.
“T-That’s not true! I’m not supposed to spy on you, I’m just supposed to watch out for you!”
… That’s even weirder, frankly. So Blake was admitting that she had been assigned to Cole by the Headmistress. But then, either way, what was the point? What made Cole so special?
“Right. And so she told you that if you couldn’t manage to become my partner, you should pick the same chess piece at the temple ruins as I did so she could put you on the same team as me. Right?”
“… Yes, that’s true.”
Weiss’ jaw drops open at the admission. Was the whole Initiation System corrupt?! She glances at Yang to see the blonde is just as wide-eyed and shocked by all of this as Weiss is, thankfully. At least she’s not alone in being kept in the dark.
“I’m going to Glynda right now and putting a stop to this. I don’t need a minder. I already came to her dumb academy for her. I’m already under her watchful eyes at all times. I don’t want you breathing down my neck every second of every day. I’ll make her move you to another team and-!”

When Cole responds after a few seconds of silence, his tone is downright incredulous.
“You need… this? What, you need an extra job of spying on me for the next four years? Wouldn’t you rather focus on your studies and becoming a Huntress or something?”
Weiss understood where his confusion was coming from. She was pretty damn confused right now as well. And not just by Blake’s strange desperation either. Cole sounded confident that he could talk Glynda into reassigning Blake to another team. More than that, he’d straight up said he was only even attending Beacon as a favor to the Headmistress. What the hell was going on here?! What was the relationship between their new Team Leader and Goodwitch supposed to even be?!
“… I can make it worth your while, you know. I can show you that I’m not just some spy…”
Weiss blinks as Blake’s tone suddenly turns… sultry?! Yang had been hogging the single crack in the door up until now, forcing Weiss to mostly listen in. But now, Weiss drops down to her knees and peeks through the crack a bit further down, needing to see what’s happening. What she sees in the lecture hall shocks the Schnee Heiress to her core.

On one hand, Glynda will probably win & be able to diffuse the situation by convincing Wiess that Cole is a strategic asset & that if the team performs well then they can advance their career & fame and become a well renowned unit like the Ace Ops of Atlas. On the other hand, I personally want to see Amber try to stutter & stammer her way out of this and make Yang & Wiess more curious about what makes Cole so desirable. Bonus points if Amber accidentally lets out that Glynda is ALSO sleeping with Cole.
