New Girls on Aidenke's DC Story
🕑 Added 2022-08-29 13:04:49 +0000 UTCThis is a commissioned work by Aidenke, but I'm so proud of this one because I feel like I've levelled up from my previous work! The biggest contribution to levelling up with this one was implementation of Blender, 3D software for constructing the composition and the background.
If I were to do this with my old workflow, I would've been too intimidated with the perspective accuracy of the whole composition, that I wouldn't dare to put as much detail diversity as it is now.
Even for simple stuffs such as the floor wooden panels, it would've required a lot of effort to calculate the perspective measurement to make sure they're the same size on perspective changes, but with 3D software, it would only took a few clicks. Drawing an identical second one-bar-prison on the right without 3D software, I would've need to do a lot of perspective measurement because it's on different orientation than the first one-bar-prison.
But with 3D help, this doesn't actually make my work faster tho, it still took me around a week to finish as when I can find "shortcut" to draw the tedious background, I directed the saved effort to populate the background to make it more immersive.
Thanks to Aidenke for commissioning this with me! Aidenke doing amazing work with the commission art by editing it with proper good graphic designs and dialogs to give life to the characters and story.

It makes me really happy to know that you enjoyed making this one as much as I loved seeing it come together. The scene is incredible both on a technical design and composition standpoint, but also on colors and lighting too. The girls all look amazing, reacting in their different ways - and I love getting to add two new girls to the mix. It is always a pleasure working with you, and I hope we can keep the DC series going from here! :D
