For me (as someone who played the games) I think Ellie and Joel relationship kinda went straight to someone like a daughter figure/someone Joel needs to protect and skipped everything in between. I feel like they were so much more than that to each other. There were scenarios that made them friends, partners in crimes, and at times, each other’s extra limbs lol. Towards the end of the show, I feel like Joel is very protective and still treats Ellie like a little girl. But in the game he had a lot of trust and gives Ellie a lot of respect in her calibre on survival. Nothing wrong with how the show did it. But I feel like they could have shown more. So I kinda get what Tobi said… they were a lot of things to each other (the foreplay) before they got to the point where Joel chose to save Ellie VS the rest of the world (the sex). I think that’s what he meant lol

I think for ppl (aka me) who never played the game or know the story.. saw the chemistry and how much Joel cared for Ellie like a daughter... I started seeing it from the ep, he tried to have Tommy take her, since he felt like a failure... But, I can understand how it didnt feel that way for someome who has a connection via the game. I enjoyed the show very much and I'm very anxious about S2, because twitter has been hinting and I'm not fan of the hints 😩lol. Loved watching it with yall... and Tobi you crazy af for that example 😂
