Well, IMO it should work. The same guy wrote both Power Manager and SIMPLE TABS!

Any chance / advice on getting this to work with Power Manager? (if your not familiar, it sets up profiles of active add-ons you can swap between on the fly) These two are the ultimate tools when it comes to N-Panel management.

A needed solution! I used to change some category's line in the py code of the add-ons but It's some time consuming, even when you want to update with new versions of them. Thanks a lot!!!

Yes, that is the correct behavior. We had to code around both Hard Ops and Boxcutter because they do things in a non standard way, so there's nothing we can do about them. I think you may be able to choose to disable then in their respective preferences, but you should check with their authors for more info on how to do that.

I'm still getting an issue where if I combine tabs for example add Pivot Transform and 3D Gizmo Cursor to a new Tab and hit apply it moves Hops and Batch tabs to the top under item. Work around is disable and enable to move them back to the bottom. Seems that neither Batch Ops or Hops tab appear in the Simple Tabs interface. Otherwise it seems to be working very nicely.
