Yeah, I'd totally quit. I mean the evidence pretty much shows that Kira only kills criminals or people who get in the way of him killing criminals. I wouldn't really risk getting murdered for the first group, and I would no longer be part of the second group, so yeah, if I only knew what the cops know at this point, I'd probably get out.

i would stay out of principle if i came there to help i'm not gonna be a bitch and leave halfway through. Plus if i do die i know there is no way he will attack my family because if he did it would make him nothing more than another killer of the innocent, since they wouldn't have had anything to do with the investigation and pose no real threat. that's just me though i respect everyone who runs thats the right option just not what i would do.

As someone who has seen the show and without spoilers, I’m getting out. After I find out that he can kill the way he does I’m looking for a new job. Family comes first and it takes true courage to back away from a fight than to go towards it I would stay in the police force but not on the task force.

I would stay, I’d probably still be scared to do so, but I would still do it because at the end under that much of a stress my depression would take the decision for me making me think like “my death would have been bland and forgettable anyway, so why not die in vane but while people tell you it’s for a good cause?”

Quite a few are commenting that you'd stay and 'just hide your identity carefully'. But thinking it from their perspective and not the audiences, they are working for an anonymous voice to hunt a super-powered killer whose methods are not known. They have only speculations and not the facts that the viewer has - who knows if Kira could kill them at any moment, but just decides not to? Hell, for all they know, L could be Kira himself and only plays a sick game with their lives. And even if you'd know about the rules, does hiding your identity really help, if Kira would suddenly take the shinigami eyes or arms a battalion of suicide bombers?
