If J'onn's telepathy was instantaneous, that either means he can see into the future, as he knows the correct responses to everything Manchester says, OR he's skilled enough to know what someone is thinking before they do, it just makes much more sense for it to be in real-time, maybe with a bit of delay.

I think it was in real time because I think it would've made more sense that if Jon was able to slow those around Machester through a telepathic link while also talking to Manchester.

It felt like like it was nearly instantaneous, but that time did pass. Kind of like if he was given a weak version of the speed force how it could all happen quick but not instant like flash-time.
