The 50 people left was a translation error. It should have said examiners were told to aim for having 50 people left after round 2.

Noman Khuwaja

Kurapika is arguably the one with the best analytical skills there and she couldn't figure out how to pass the 1st phase 2 exam. It was just a way to show us how little respect the examinees has for the gourmet hunter craft.

Hængeklumpen

you're correct, it's like a school diploma, you don't really need it, but socity says it's important.

Jjop017

But it felt like all the characters didn’t give thought to either of the challenges. No one thinks to try to actually prepare the pig differently despite seeing several other people fail. Then again everyone just jumped the mountain side without a second thought. It feels odd to me because in later parts of the story certain characters seem to over analyze everything just gave this challenge no thought at all.

Jjj.

i knew you were going to over-analyze some things from this show but the rookie crusher's skills part cought me by surprise lol

HybridThizzle

How is it odd? The ones that are thoughtful survive. The one's that aren't, you don't see them anymore because they're dead.

HybridThizzle

It doesn't seem that important, but them being hunters is literally why they have the resources actually do anything. In other words, you're just taking the fact that they are hunters for granted. They wouldn't be doing 10% of the shit they participate in if they didn't have the title.

Indexsage

man that part of the staring at the lady's breast was so funny especially with Erick laughing lol

aSackOfReactions

Yeah it changes, but they wouldn't be able to do half the things they do or go half the places they go without a Hunter license.

Jjop017

The second exam the failures and deaths were more due to the participants own failings than the first exam where they got tricked or were victims of a deadly forest swamp. I mean how many people had to fail before one person thought maybe I should do more than just burn a whole pig’s body? The makeup exam a bunch of these idiots just jumped down the mountainside without even thinking to see how long it takes for the updraft to happen or think of those webs could support all their weight. Don’t get me wrong it sucks people died. All the participants showed a lack of forethought in this phase that becomes odd later on when see certain ones are more thoughtful in their approach.

I started watching it as soon as they started reacting im halfway done so far no it's not that important as they make it seem once the hunter exam arc is over the show changes completely then what you think it is

Cultured Degenerate

Spoken like someone who hasn't watched the show. Free food, lodging, and travel + godlike abilities is far from unimportant.

Anthony Lujan

It's funny how unimportant to the plot the hunter title really is in this show the equivalent of winning the martial arts tournament in dbz

Matthew Thacker

uhhh you not seeing the newest reaction of RWBY

Liesmith

9:24 : Not. Yet.

coffeemilk

lol Aaron, "All pigs are... not carnivores" lol. Glad somebody said something about Calvin's "facts"

John FD Lobrano

Something you're all undoubtedly noticing is that getting killed is a SHOCKINGLY common thing to happen in the HunterxHunter world. This is a world where there are gangsters that limit in the trillions, and assassins are treated like celebrities. It's overall a VERY dangerous world to live in.
