I think The Monitor have set many things up to be ready for the finale such as Lex taking over Superman as the paragon as well as the death of Oliver Queen and even giving Cisco his power back so we can have a Avengers type portals moment with Cisco transporting all the heroes that will be revived into the final battefield wherever that might be :D So i believe that The Monitor definately has laid down the groundwork for the final battle and we will understand more of his actions in the final 2 episodes which I just cant wait to see

I think ultimately he will be part of the solution, but first create a problem. WHY? Because he is a BLAD..... BITTER.... BELITTLING man.

PS Captain Rip Hunter warned us about crisis from the beginning of Legends when he said he's witness Men of steel die and Dark Knights fall... There is a Moment in the Comics where Lex basicaly becomes a God, but by doing so he can't affect the world around him freely. So my guess is he helps, maybe even save everyone, BUT it would be despite himself. Or the show could 180° us and make Lex a hero... unlikely but still.

Lex said he saw the seven paragons trapped, so if he didn't come, they'd never get out and the Arrowverse would just simply end. So he is the only one who can save them.

This sounds like wishful thinking but Lex and Ryan could possibly use the technology at the Vanishing Point to reverse this. Also im hoping the Monitor appeared to Rip before he sacrificed himself because it didnt work and Mallus survived that so Rip's death felt wasted to me.

I don't know how we ended up with so many Superman actors with last names people can't pronounce. Routh rhymes with South. Cavill sounds like gravel. And Hoechlin is heck-lin.

Off-topic but you can tell Routh was a great Superman because I love Cryer's Lex and I still shouted "Luthor, you bastard!" at my TV screen when that moment happened.

I think it will end up as part of the solution. Even though he’s a self-serving jackass they could use some one of his intelligence right about now. He might be able to help come up with a way to restore other heroes so he can have his cake and eat it too. And his knowledgeable the book of destiny may prove invaluable
