Oh my God, stop trying to act macho, Eric and shut the hell up already about not being to have empathy. No, you're not supposed toclet any Demon live but all of them are victims. The show never once excused their behavior, it just shows that they're helpless and pretty much all of them have some human side to them that wants to die. If you keep mentioning that and try to act cool, I'm going to habe to start disliking every Demon Slayer video from now on. Especially that Part about acting like the Mother isn't abuse or could've done something when her own children are laughing at her and doing nothing just proved how stupid your hate boner is.

I think that you can combine styles, but you have to know both styles in order to do so. I haven't read the manga or watched many episodes ahead of this, so this is just a guess on my part, but the styles are different forms of martial arts, kind of like the different forms of bending in Avatar: The Last Airbender. It took Tanjiro 3 years to master the forms of water breathing that he knows. A second style of breathing is not something that he would be able to learn quickly and incorporate into his fighting. Just my thoughts on that part of things.

if the elements aren't actually there how do they explain enhanced water moves underwater and why did crybabyies hair change when he was hit by lightning and now he can do lightning moves I just don't see how its the elements aren't real

Technically there is no water or thunder or whatever. It is just there to represent each of the swords mans fighting style. However there are weird inconsistencies in the physics of the show where it would only be possible for some of the stuff to happen if there was actually water present. So don’t feel bad about getting confused, the mangka is a little vague with how it all works

@Garrett Gee, from the manga, it seems like the effects are just different forms stylized, aside from (spoilish) Sunbreathing, which actually seems to burn them.

You're trying to compare our Human lives IRL to the demon's lives in a fictional story with circumstances of "domestic" abuse. I don't see how you think that connection really works, these Demon's have an entirely unique situation that can't be compared to what we have..

While I agree with Eric that overcoming abusive situations is possible and there are people who do it everyday, they usually need some outside help (a place to go, people who care about them, someone the look up to, etc ) to get them out of the situation first. It's very obvious that there is no support system for her to even attempt to use. Her "kids" were literally laughing as she got beat.
