Between Watts, Tyrian, and the seemingly endless swarm of Grimm, evil is encroaching on our heroes from all sides. The biggest threat, however, may be hiding where they least expect it.

Even if Atlas escapes into the atmosphere, Salem could just take over/destroy the other kingdoms while atlas regroups. Bearing in mind that atlas would leave its dust supply behind, (the mines near mantle, in vacuo) how much could they regroup with a finite dust supply? Sure they could spend what time they have researching new ammunition, ways of heating the city, all while Salem destroys/controls the rest of the world/generates more Grimm to attack atlas. She might even be content being the goddess of the rest of remnant (as was her proposition to Ozma, “we could become the gods of this world”) and leave atlas out on its own; futile in its attempts to push back against her. I’m not saying ironwood is completely in the wrong or that RWBY is right, I just think both sides have flaws to their plans and are having to make a difficult choice in a limited amount of time where the options are to retreat to an inevitable final stand vs stand your ground and try and send for help/reinforcements. It’s worth pointing out that both are legitimate strategies in real war, and neither guarantee victory and will both risk lives: In the short term, one is more likely to risk the life of the soldiers, while the other is more likely to risk the lives of the civilians. In the long term yes, atlas could regroup, but what will have become of remnant when they do?

I'd argue Ironwood is the one being naive here. His plan just delays the inevitable. Salem would eventually figure out a way to get up there, whether it be a new type of Grimm or using the other relics.
Cadmus Lochlan
Ironwood is right in this. Team RWBY is wrong. Morally, yes RWBY is right. however being morally right doesn't win wars. You can't always save everyone when you are trying to save the world. In this case they are fighting a war not a single fight. I hated that Yang and Blake decided to tell Robyn about Ironwood's secret but they continue to keep him in the dark with their own secrets. Ironwood has been nothing but straight with them even expressing how he doesn't know who to trust and the reason for that, yet they blab on to someone just because they think she's on their side. Remember Lionheart? I need someone close to them to betray them so they understand why Ozpin and Ironwood keep secrets close to the chest. Because right now they are annoying me with their i'm right because I'm the protagonist mentality.
Andre Ransom
Eh not really. Both of their plans are incredibly flawed but Ironwood’s plan is just delaying the inevitable. Like Salem said, time is not on their side. Even if they did manage to launch Atlas high into the atmosphere she’ll eventually create Grimm capable of reaching them. And without Atlas’ help or a warning, the other kingdoms would fall to her within months and she’ll have the other three relics eventually. We don’t even know what the others do, for all we know she could use the Relic of Destruction to shoot them out of the sky. Then there would be no Kingdom or allies left to help and Atlas would just be sitting there all alone. A much better plan would be to stand and fight while they either finish amity or move the material needed for the tower into Atlas. They have the strongest military in Remnant, the students at Atlas Academy, Penny, the AceOps, and Ruby has her silver eyes of which she’s getting better at controlling. Salem can’t die but she can be wounded and feel pain. The silver eyes wouldn’t kill her but it might be enough to force her to retreat for a moment. The last option would be to stand and fight while someone rushes to Vacuo for aid, since Vacuo is the only kingdom strong enough to help right now. His original plan of uniting the world was 5 times better than just running away and dying later rather than now. He’s basically just using delay tactics just like Ozpin has been doing in the past, which obviously doesn’t work in the long term. Salem’s main objective is to divide humanity, doing exactly what your enemy wants is kind of silly in of itself. Like she said at the end of Volume 3, when inited together humanity is a formidable opponent. That’s how Ozpin was able to keep her at bay after the Great War. There’s millions of them vs just her and her small group of chaos-makers. The Grimm are dangerous but not hard to outsmart and kill.

Yeah it's pretty quiet now. Gotta find that middle ground

Ironwood was right! RWBY are just immature children with a naive world view.

Anyone else think the episode audio is too low now? Can barely hear it lol
The Sci-Fi Slut
turns out me taking forever in the shower has it's perks

*Kerry and they got some help this volume from fellow RT veteran Eddy Rivas and Novelist Kiersi Burkhart, so that if they were/are caught up too long working on other projects they can polish the scripts better and still get them out to the animators with enough time to produce the show.

The Tyrian fight was 3v1 and he wasn't doing so bad. It was an AMAZING fight overall. and the whole Exploding arrow thing. Robin never used it till then so it makes sense he would just catch it in his mouth to really show off.
Merrick
They're tweaking the episode volume today, it'll just take a bit of time. And what do you mean next volume? the sound was fine this volume. Its just this episode that was weird.
DeAnthony Potts
Tweak the episode sound next volume. I was really struggling to hear yall through alot of it

This was the first real ‘gun fight’ in the show.. not as interesting as complex weapons/guns but still a great fight imo. Caleb Hyles singing made it even better. And yes Eric, Ruby’s mom (Summer Rose) had silver eyes.
Chai Tea
Audio is way lower than the show volume, like everyone else mentioned 😅
Namikaza
Yes, it is basically: we fight until we are all dead. I really can't take them seriously. I'm really unhappy with Team RWBY's decisions this season, so I'm still #TeamIronwood
Herberderber
To be honest team rwby's plan sounds like it would just get everyone killed
IrishNexus
Eric has confirmed they will be re-uploading with different audio
SolitaryLark
Yeah sound balance seemed off for this one.
Selina
I can barely hear the guys, can we get a new soundmix?
mark lewis
Audio was off, could barely hear what the guys were saying and that's what I watch for.
There is an echo of the episode and the episode volume is way too high to the point where I can barely hear the reaction.
Andre Ransom
This is the episode I was looking forward to most and I can’t hear their reaction 😂😂 hopefully they’re able to fix if
Andre Ransom
The audio is very off, the episode is louder than your voices.
Robbie Nelson
Just a little warning guys. Might want to turn up the audio on your mics
Joshua Krienke
The audio for the way seems way too loud I can’t hear what the crew is saying. This sucks because this was one of the episodes I was most looking forward to seeing them react to.
Ben Hendrian
It just gets better in my opinion! I especially love the finale😍
Deadpool
You can tell Miles and Carry learned a lot from previous volumes
Nick Carpenter
mmmaaaaybe reupload with more balanced audio?
Hercule Pyro
Damn you guys are really quiet compared to the show on this one
AustinMyB
Caught up on reactions just today to be ready for this ep, one of my favorite fights in RWBY.
AdDifferent
Damn, can barely hear what the guys are all saying.
Matthew Richson
Ah yes, easily one of the most stressful episodes of the entire series. At the very least of this volume. EDIT: Yeah, I can’t hear what you are all saying.
