BRONNOCK

I’m exactly the same fuck waiting an extra week for fate

Maximilian Baumann

Just became a patreon for fate. Watched you on Youtube for a long time but Fate/Zero is my absolute favorite show ever. Got even better for me at a second watch.

Kaz

If you guys did not notice. Op is debut song by LISA also singer for the Demon Slayer.

Law Licht

dude the archer's name is a spoiler to them

cody skater

i mean obviously it's kinda subjective but last i checked was ranked in the top 20 or so of all time best anime in japan for what its worth.

Law Licht

Hi guys I'm your new fan of Fate Zero reaction, I hope one of you have the chance to read this because as a long time fate zero fan I want to address some questions that you guys have WITHOUT SPOILING anything related to the anime series because some of the info are exclusive to the visual novel reader. Let me say this again, what I'm about to say below is SPOILER FREE so don't worry and keep on reading. 1. About the mage bloodline, older=stronger. In Fate universe, magic and magus concept are entirely different with that in Harry Potter universe. Here for one to enact magic as phenomenon they use "conceptual" nerve in their body, which is dubbed as "Magic Circuit", as a conduit to let mana be transformed into a specific magical act. To put it in comparison with real life example, lets say you want to move your hand then the biological process that occurs to achieve this is roughly like this: Brain (command) + electrical signal (energy) -> Nervous System (pathway) -> Hand Muscle Contraction (result) while to perform magic the simplified process is like this: Soul (command) -> Magic Circuit (mana reservoir and pathway) + Spell (formula) -> Magecraft (result) Mages spend their lives researching magic of their own choosing for the ultimate magnum opus that all mages share, to reach The Root or The Akashic Record or The Truth (mentioned briefly by Kotomine in Ep 1). It is a theoretical (and mystical?) place where every answer lies, the truth of all past and future, the end and the beginning. But this search is impossible to realize in one lifetime and so the mages will PASS DOWN their lifetime fruit of labor and research to their descendent. This inheritance is not in form of books or gold, but they literally will TRANSPLANT part of their Magic Circuit (dubbed as Magic Crest, mentioned briefly by Kariya in ep 1 as Worm Crest) into their child when they are mature enough. Just think of it like as you giving your child a USB drive full of memes that you have collected all of your life. And then your child will do the same as you, adding more memes collection into the USB and then passing it down to their own offspring and so on. That's why the older the magician family is, the stronger they are. Because their Magic Crest is richer and bigger in a sense. 2. About the worm that "violates" Sakura. Those worms are actually magical creatures that originates and functions as Zoken's familiar (the old creepy guy). They are akin and acts like a parasite, sucking or devouring the victim's mana for Zoken. They do so by injecting their tentacles directly into their victim's Magic Circuit, and remember that Magic Circuit is literally your body nervous system so just imagine how it feels to have hundred of foreign bodies directly violated you from inside out. That's why what Sakura actually experiences is MUCH MUCH worse than it's shown in the anime. 3. About the Summoning System. By default, once you are chosen by The Holy Grail you can summon a servant WITHOUT any relic. By doing so what servant that you are going to summon is completely RANDOM, but in theory they are going to be similar or compatible with you as in personality or character. But you can bypass these limitation if you have a relic, something from your preferred hero had in their life, to forcefully have them answer your summoning. And most of the heroes that can be summoned can only be summoned in one or few classes, with one of the class being their strongest form. For example, if you summoned Arturia although she is the strongest as Saber she could also fall into Lancer, or Rider, or even Berserker (if by chance another hero already took Saber class at the time of her summoning) but she could not be Caster. This is restricted by the heroes own legend, they can't represent a class that wasn't a part of their identity when they lived. I hope this can clear some confusion that you had, and I can assure the only reason I explain these points is because they are not explicitly explained in the anime. Cheers guys.

And? Still don’t change that Fate Zero it’s barely talked about as ‘greatest anime made’. I mean it’s really not that deep. Y’all need to stop being bothered about my opinion just cuz I said the anime is not that bad. Bye

Law Licht

because Fate Zero is a mature anime and a rarity where the MC (and most of the SC as well) is not a prepubescent highschool boy with a generic face and a generic hair style. Not to mention the style of story telling that it presented is GOT like, where it follows multiple characters storyline and perspective at the same time and how it manages to blur the line of good and evil and protagonist and antagonist.

Cyridius

"Are we sure he's the archer because those arrows look very big" Welcome to one of the longest running Fate memes, BlindWave

Yil

I second this, Iskandar is awesome itself as a character, but I got to enjoy a lot more from him once I learned he was Alexander. And Arthur's story is very important for most of the anime adaptations.

DAki

Yet you don’t hear the Fate series being mentioned when ppl talk about the ‘single greatest anime ever made’

BRONNOCK

Single greatest anime ever made

Reuben Bartolome

Hope you enjoy this series as I have

Bekss

Well sorry for insulting your anime, guess I just had different expectations for hand to hand (sword) fights. Which not every action scene is the type of fight Im talking about. But I never said any were bad I just enjoy the characters way more than the action. Maybe my wording in the first comment wasnt exactly clear

Parker Maisterra

So piece of advice to really enjoy this much more, re-fresh yourself on the history of the servants summoned. Really gets to enjoy the drastically different life styles of each hero, their motivations and even their abilities

Ryoma Nagare

Man, I will look forward to their every reaction to Caster and Ryuunosuke. It's been a long time since I've seen them all so uncomfortable.

BRONNOCK

I can’t wait for them to see the second movie different class

Ark

Man, I thought this guy shows up later, guess it was much earlier than I expected. lmao when I first watched I thought "wow this servant a nice guy, he's letting him go." Which now made me bias towards male w/ that face. Which in FGO the moment I saw the same face I was like "That guy is definitely a bad, he's gonna betray us."

DAki

To confuse ppl

Olenti

I guess they missed the part in ep 1, where they say Archibald found another relic. I'm sure they'll be confused next episode.

Olenti

I feel you Aaron. That scene was hard to watch. I thought he was letting him escape too, which made it even worse.

nickp3065 .

I don't know if you mentioned this but the singer of the op is the same as the Demon Slayer op.

DAki

I know what I said and that’s ‘not bad’. This anime is not bad. Lol sorry you feel another way 🙄

AnEnthusiasticKoala

“Not bad” This is the best show they are now reacting to

DAki

Nope they don’t read Patreon comments but they read comments on discord tho.

DAki

This anime is not bad I guess

Nilexinator

do they read the comments?

TurnoverCarbin

it's on their website

Ashe

How do i watch this in full length i cant find the post for it

Cultured Degenerate

Rick says that in the discussion

Ashe

Ok u clearly didnt watch it this show has so many fights and the animation is stellar. The fighting is definitely the best part of the show idk where u got this from😂😂

MOB12

How did i watch all of Fate and not know this lmao to be fair its been years tho

BRONNOCK

Wait there’s not that many fights what you must have watched a different show😂

BRONNOCK

Just need the 3rd movie to come out now can’t wait

Woodsie89

they usually only watch the ED on the first episode, when its new, then skip it after that.

Jeroz Avlesair

it echoes

HollowAvarice

In the first episode they called assassin Hassan (as in Hassan-i-Sabah, the founder of the Hashshashin, or Order of Assassins) Iskander is another way of saying Alexander. Bluebeard is a 1700s French story of a nobleman who marries women, kills them, remarries, repeats.

Why episodes titled differently on Netflix and Funimation?

Bekss

It almost sounds like I dont like the show haha. But I just rewatched and really like it, the characters make it a great one

Bekss

Since the premise of the show is a war between ancient heroes they expect a bunch of cool fights but there isnt that many really. Some cool ones but the fighting isnt exactly the best part of the show imo. I always wanted a sword fight from Iskandar, and the way Gilgamesh fights is kinda dull

theprolificpotato

Awesome!

Rakoon Shampoo

Watch full length. I think they use the mouse to check the length to see if there’s a post credits scene.

Hakurei Oni

"I think Archer is Ramses II." Oh the irony

Rakoon Shampoo

They did. They just cut it from the YouTube edit. It’s in the full length.

theprolificpotato

The first ending is very good, try to watch it to have a glimpse of the servants' past lives. Fun fact, almost all of the stills are based from real-life paintings/sculptures of them back then, you can see the comparison in the following amv https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HafFAW8F-NA

Hercule Pyro

If you missed it Irisviel (the wife) said that Arhturs actually name was Arturia.

TheHumourTumour

Oh rly? Thats good then. Its just that almost every reaction you see someone reach for the mouse as the ED starts and the video cuts off. I guess its a shame we didnt get to see their reaction to it

Ryoma Nagare

Yuuuuuuuuuup. Now watch the Heaven's Feel movies. They're amazing.

k.lam

Love how Rick already has theories on the identities!! Fav part of the reaction so far

Adar

I started the show after you guys did. Then I watched all of it. Then I watched all of Unlimited Blade Works.... damn this show is good.

Ryoma Nagare

They didn't skip it. They literally talked about Iskandar's parade in the ED in their discussion.

Envyus

Asassain said his name in the first episode. Hassan-i-Sabbah the alias of one of the 19 Leaders of the Hashshashin. (As in 19 consecutive leaders that all had the same alias.)
