“The Pageant Pig”
Madison was a pageant queen, not on the big time level of a Miss America or anything close to that, but since she was young, she was the kind of girl who always loved to flaunt herself and be seen by others. More than anything else Madison loved to win. Competition and the idea of being better than everyone else drove her.
She loved being better than everyone else and lording it over people. She would flaunt her muscles and her titles and tease anyone that she thought of as lesser than herself. And, since her number of pageant wins seemed to statistically support the idea that Madison was indeed the most beautiful woman in the region, it was very easy for Madison to look down on everyone else.
Of course, Madison wasn’t a big time pageant winner. As beautiful as she was, when you keep widening the pool of competition eventually you find more and more beautiful people and plenty of different judges with different tastes which makes things harder for everyone. That’s a long way of saying that eventually Madison hit a wall. The competitions that once came so easy now left her feeling overwhelmed and defeated.
A more well adjusted individual would likely have shifted gears, refocused her energies on something productive. Maybe she should have sought out some therapy. Maybe talking to somebody would have helped Madison to discover that what she truly needed was to learn to love and accept herself instead of constantly seeking outside validation for her existence. A more well adjusted person would have worked toward the realization that life doesn’t have to be a competition and a person’s self worth doesn’t require defeating others and putting them down.
But for Madison, who was used to life coming easily to her, who had seldom ever even heard the word no, these moments of adversity left her feeling incredibly defeated and depressed. Her entire world felt like it was rapidly collapsing around her, and as she looked in the mirror, it looked to her like she could no longer tell who was looking back at her. Madison’s entire identity was in question, and she needed answers.
And instead of finding those answers in therapy, she found those answers in food.
The answers were buried in buckets of fried chicken and gallons of ice cream. They were hidden in the layers of chocolate cake and baked into chocolate chip cookies and blueberry muffins. Madison found them all even if it took quite a while to make sense of them. For a long time it was just about the act of eating to try to fill a void that had opened up inside her. The foods that she had long denied herself were no a crutch a way to feel fleeting moments of happiness, moments that started to be smaller and smaller as they were then followed by moments of tightened jeans and shirts annoyingly riding up without her permission.
The vain Madison wasn’t one to easily give up her precious clothes and wore those jeans until the busted and her tops until all of her shirts became belly shirts. But even with buttons popping, Madison couldn’t bring herself to get her diet back under control because the food that she was binging on was rapidly becoming her only sense of solace as her world began to fall apart around her.
Her snide friends began to abandon her one by one. Many of them, former rivals, now openly enjoyed trashing her to her face, on social media, and at any opportunity.
“Lard ass.” “Piggy.” “Pathetic Porker.” These were some of the names which she used to throw at other people and were now being applied to her. It was tough. But a new understanding was on the horizon. And that understanding came on the Fourth of July.
As Madison was scarfing down her own hotdogs, she saw the Nathan’s Hotdog Eating Competition on TV, and, more importantly than that, she heard the roar of the crow as the competitive eaters gorged themselves to earn their cheers. Madison grabbed her recently developed belly roll and knew what her new calling was. From that day forward, Madison dedicated herself to food in a way she had never dreamed of before. She thought of all the times she made fun of fat girls for stuffing their faces and aimed to surpass each and every one of them. She stuffed herself. She gorged herself. She binged like there was no tomorrow all in the name of training.
And all that training paid off.
Mega Madison as the crowds called her became the queen of the competitive eating scene.
Hotdogs were a given, but Madison found that she could put anything away with a ferocity that few could match. She stuffed her face with pasta, was the queen of pie eating contests. She feasted on turkey leg challenges and baked bean cook off competitions. She ate and ate and ate. If there was a competition to be found she would enter it and nine times out of ten she would win, and when she didn’t win she would double her training efforts to be ready for the next time.
She had captured her joie-de-vivre again. Renewed competition gave her renewed reason for being and so she attacked everything she did with a vigor and verve that she had not had in quite some time.
And of course, you can only go to town at so many pizza eating competitions until all those carbs and fat have a very large effect on your waistline, and the effect on Madison was that her waistline got very large indeed.
Mega Madison became everything she used to make fun of for most of her life. Hell, she was a great deal fatter than most most if not all of the other women she had ever made fun of in her life, and if it meant winning, Madison had accepted that she was going to become the fattest pig she had ever known, at least she was going to become a fat and happy pig, a victorious porker for the ages.
She was a jowly woman, a corpulent competitor with a well stretched spare tire that rested on titanic thighs. Madison was always comfortable when she sat down for an eating competition because her ass was so well padded. Of course it was also so large that people often had to bring her two stools instead of one to sit on.
Her social media page isn’t as big as it used to be. But to her former friends and rivals who still keep up with Madison, she’s become a big fat joke. And there are plenty of people that Madison used to make fun of in the past who enjoy what they see as schadenfreude. The comments can get vicious.

But Madison doesn’t care about that. No. Mega Madison only cares about winning, and she’s going to do plenty of that now that she’s changed herself from a pageant queen to a prized pig.

“Fat for the Holidays”
— New Year’s Eve —
Alicia was a stunning woman especially when she wore dresses like the sparkling gold number that she was currently owning. She was the kind of woman that naturally commanded the room and drew everybody’s attention toward her. Eyes easily fell on her curves. Starting with her beautiful face, it was easy to let one's eyes wander downward toward her pert chest, slim waist and thin but athletic legs. Even when she turned around, or especially when she turned around for some people, it was a joy to let one’s eyes slide down the small of her back and land on her perfectly round bubble butt.
She knew she was a goddess and let everyone else know it too. She was a master at working the room and working people and was always incredibly quick with a cutting word, cruel remarks about the imperfections of others to reassert her own dominance.
She was supposed to be working on that as a part of her New Year’s resolution. More specifically she was supposed to work on bonding with her fat ass sister in-law, Mary. It was a result of a drunken Christmas Eve dinner where Alicia referred to Mary as Mary the Moo Cow.
That was a bit of a bridge too far and had, perhaps rather fairly, earned her a talking to from her usually very staid husband, Thomas. After her conversation with Tom, Alicia agreed that she would do everything she could this year to mend fences with his family, a group of mostly large individuals (a trait that her toned Thomas had thankfully seemed to skip) who had taken offense to a number of her recent comments, and to especially work on becoming friends with Mary, the true heavyweight of the family whose perpetual New Year’s resolution was to lose weight.
Alicia thought that perhaps that could actually be where she started off with her, offering to help Mary become less cow-like.
Mary seemed to have other ideas on how to kick off their friendship as the clock neared midnight as she brought over an entire bottle of champagne and plate stacked high with brownies.
—St. Patrick’s Day—
The bonding was going well. Bonding over beer made for some boisterous but fun times.
Admittedly, Alicia was already feeling a bit tipsy after two beers when her sister-in-law brought over yet another round with shots of Fireball to chase them with. Alicia had a lot of self control normally, but she was a sucker for cinnamon flavor shots, and cinnamon flavored anything really, and once the alcohol started flowing well… her self control was not exactly the same.
Alicia let out a soft burp to make herself more room and reached down to rub her belly which was already getting a bit distended because of all the beer. What she didn’t want to admit to herself is that her stomach’s current bloated condition wasn’t only because of the beers from today.
Boozy brunches had become a regular thing with her sister in-law at this point. Her and Mary were more than capable of putting away multiple carafes of mimosas on their own, and all those champagne and orange juice was inevitably chased by either belgian waffles, or pancakes, or french toast, pretty much anything that could be slathered in butter and drowned in syrup. While she wasn’t getting fat by any means, all of that brunching had indeed softened her figure at least a little bit.
And now here she was ready for what was essentially an entire day of boozy brunching. It was barely noon and she was already on her third beer. Luckily, she had also eaten a large breakfast of corned beef hash and pancakes with bacon to help keep her steady on her feet. As soon as the shots were done, Mary revealed the next stage of her plan, some loaded potato skins or as she liked to call them “Irish nachos”.
The potato skins were indeed loaded with bacon and sour cream and ranch dressing and cheddar cheese and chives (which don’t actually add much in the way of calories but did wonders for the flavor. And after Alicia had consumed her fair share, somehow more than even Mary had, her belly was filling rather loaded, and she could barely move. Her green shirt was stretched tight and exposed a bit of her belly, but after a quick break for water, Alicia knew she would be ready for another beer. She wasn’t going to miss this opportunity to make bonding with fat Mary. An impromptu drinking competition had seemingly begun between the two, and Alicia, as always, was determined to win.
—Easter—
Praise the Lord for Easter chocolate!
Somehow Alicia found Easter chocolate to be superior to all other kinds of chocolate, there was something about taking basic milk chocolate and shaping it into a hollowed out bunny that really made Alicia’s taste buds water.
It wasn’t just the Easter chocolate that Alicia was craving. No. It turns out that up until this point, Alicia had never fully realized the role of desserts in a proper Easter celebration. Admittedly, she had not particularly considered Easter to be a large holiday to her, but to Thomas' very large, very Irish Catholic family, Easter was an incredibly important day for a multitude of reasons. It was a true celebration of faith and family, and an important day for family meant an important day for food.
There was going to be both roast lamb and ham for dinner served with sweet dinner rolls slathered with butter and sides of loaded mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and so much more. It was like a second Thanksgiving, or at least what she imagined Thanksgiving must be like with Thomas’ family. She hadn’t been to a true Thanksgiving here either and after observing this spread was looking forward to the opportunity.
But Alicia’s mind switched back to desert as she could smell Mary’s brownies being pulled out of the oven. Mary was an expert baker, and Easter was one of her biggest days. She had been preparing different recipes for a month, and Alicia had been her dutiful taste tester, especially since Mary was attempting her best to stick to a diet. It wasn’t going swimmingly as it could, but Mary had still managed to lose three pounds. That was certainly more than Alicia could say. She seemed to have found ten or fifteen.
Alicia’s thighs were looking mighty thick in her yellow Easter dress, a number not meant to be as short as it was but one that was pulled up thanks to the blossoming of her butt cheeks over the last month and a half as well as the continued blooming of her beer belly which was now decidedly filled with much more than just beer.
It was a beer belly, a pastry belly, a chocolate and cheese belly. It was filled with all manor of good things that Alicia had spent years denying herself but Mary was quick to introduce her to, especially when she had Alicia to herself at one of their day long weekly brunch sessions or when they got together to secretly prep for secretly celebrating 4/20, a day Alicia had never considered to be a holiday before.
Alicia had become a constant muncher under Mary’s guidance, and even without Mary there to supervise, Alicia’s appetite was growing and her habits were becoming worse and worse. It was a miracle that she hadn’t blown up into a total fat ass yet. She was determined not to do that.
Of course, Mary couldn’t help but smile as Alicia took another bite of her third brownie before dinner. She knew better.
She knew it was only a matter of time.
—The Fourth of July—
Alicia was a sight to behold in her red white and blue bikini, with her gut hanging out and her massive cleavage spilling over the cups of her bikini top. This was all paired with chunky cellulite rich thunder thighs and an ass that was eating the back of her swimsuit up. She probably would have looked a good deal better in pretty much any other swimsuit, especially one that wasn’t a holdover from the year before. But Alicia wanted to be festive, and she was suddenly too self conscious yet arrogant to admit that she wanted to go shopping for a bikini (or perhaps a one piece) in a much bigger size.
Still, Alicia somehow wasn’t the big talk around Thomas’ family pool party. (At least not to her face.) The big talk was on how well her sister in-law Mary’s diet had been going. Mary had slimmed down significantly the last few months. Now that baking season was done, Mary had managed to lose twenty pounds in three months, pounds that Alicia had definitely found.
It didn’t help that part of Mary’s diet seemed to be distinctly reliant on shoving food away from her and toward Alicia, and who was Alicia to say no? That would be rude.
So now here she was gobbling down hotdogs like she was training for the Nathan’s hotdog eating competition and guzzling down beer out of spite. As Mary took another bow, Alicia took her plate back toward the grill for another helping from her husband.
Speaking of Tom, he was looking more like the rest of his family these days. Alicia’s new at home eating habits had apparently had quite the effect on him, and as he guzzled down another beer, Alicia could see his beer belly quiver, not that she was one to talk though. No, she kept her mouth shut unless she was shoving food into it, and so she just quietly held out her plate and waited for her second burger.
—Halloween—
Halloween was not a good day for Alicia as a party with her now former friends went terribly awry. Her choice of costume, a sexy mouse, was much derided with numerous unfavorable comparisons to Gus Gus from “Cinderella” and suggestions that she should have been a sexy piggy instead.
“You’ve really packed on the pounds, Alicia.”
“Yeah. You’ve porked up.”
“Gotten really big.”
“Fat, darling. You’ve gotten fucking fat.”
“You’re a cow.”
“Mooooo.”
“I like piggy. You’re a piggy. Oink oink, porker.”
“Do you really need all of that candy?”
“A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips, and your hips have gotten huge.”
“It’s disgusting how much you’ve let yourself go.”
“We’re only telling you this because we love you.”
“And because you’re a lard ass loser now.”
“But thanks for the laughs. That costume of yours is a big hit on social media, Gus Gus.”
Alicia, once able to dish all of this out but now definitely unable to take it, had enough of her tormentors and ran away from the party and found herself at Mary’s house. Luckily, Mary had had a slow night of trick or treaters, so she had plenty of leftover candy for Alicia to binge on.
Snickers, three musketeers, bags of M&Ms and skittles all found their way into Alicia’s greedy gullet as she drowned her sorrows in sugar. She felt like such a fatty as she gorged herself in front of the mirror, but she couldn’t stop cramming candy into her face. Every time she opened her mouth and saw her double chin form she sobbed more which in turn just drove her deeper into the bag of candy.
Mary knew Alicia was at the point of no return.
—Thanksgiving—
Thanksgiving was a blur from the moment Alicia and Thomas came waddling through the door with their generous and jiggling bellies ready to eat.
They tore into the turkey, stuffed themselves with stuffing, crammed cranberry sauce into their faces and filled their plump bellies with plenty of pumpkin pie. It was a day of feasting for the fat husband and his even fatter wife. They unbuttoned their stretchy jeans sometime between the third and fourth course of dinner and well before they started to gorge themselves with dessert.
It wasn’t just the pumpkin pie, they inhaled an array of cookies and sampled some pecan, blueberry, and apple as well. Mary had treated the day like her Super Bowl and was proud to watch everyone absolutely devour her cooking. Now much slimmer, though still thickly built, than she was eleven months ago, she was also the one person in her family to keep her consumption to a reasonable level.
At the other end of the spectrum was Alcia. She was putting everyone to shame with the amount of food that she was able to put away. Whenever it looked like she might be slowing down, Alicia would let loose a mighty burp to free up some room and then get right back up to speed. She was an absolute eating machine with no sense of decorum whatsoever. Whatever self control she may have once known was long gone, replaced by the instincts of a fat greedy pig.
Thomas’ family exchanged side eyes and smirks. His mom gave his belly a nice pat as she plopped another piece of pie in front of him, happy that he was now taking after the rest of the family.
But it was Alicia who really had everyone’s attention. They were clearly thrilled that the former hotty had blown up into a fatty to match the rest of them. And it looked like she was aiming to surpass them as well. She was inhaling food with such speed that it was getting harder to breathe normally and she ended up letting out loud snorts between bites, something that made Mary giggle.
For a moment, as she saw Mary’s grin after laughing at her, Alicia stopped herself. She felt her cheeks go red, and not just from the fact that she was working up a sweat with her intense eating, but she had a full realization that she was now a good deal fatter than her sister in-law and that if she didn’t stop what she was doing that instant she was doomed to be the fat one forever.
And then she went right back to tackling her fifth piece of pie.
—Christmas—
Christmas cookies are the best cookies.
That’s the conclusion that Alicia came to as a result of being Mary’s official elf in charge of cookie tasting from Thanksgiving onward. So many recipes found their way past her lips and settled on her hips, hips that were obviously growing larger by the day just like the rest of her.
Sure, her own family was still judgemental as hell, but the serotonin from sugar and the endless cheer from Mary, especially when it came to baking for her friends and family, just kept Alicia so damn jolly. As far as she could tell she was happier than she had been in a long time.
She was also far fatter than she’d ever been.
Alicia got a lot of clothes for Christmas and all of it fit at least somewhat incorrectly. Most of the clothes were at least somewhat snugger than designed and tighter than she would have liked. Some clothes from her family were purposefully too small. The term “goal pants” was used more than once. Those were all going to get returned to get things in appropriate sizes… and larger.
Alicia had finally come to accept the facts. She was officially a fat girl now, and that wasn’t changing anytime soon.
At least she wasn’t the only one. Thomas was doing an excellent job playing Santa for all the kids with no additional padding necessary. They made quite the pair now, two former fitness fanatics turned fatties. But they were all the happier, a jolly couple with their jelly bellies.
—New Year’s Eve—
The dress didn’t fit. Of course it didn’t. Alicia was too damn fat for it, and she knew it. She just didn’t care anymore. She was fat. She was getting fatter. She was going to keep getting fatter. And now she was too fat, too full, and too drunk to care anymore.
As she sat down just while the clock neared midnight, too tired to stay on her feet and party with everyone else, the sides of the dress split, and Alicia felt like she could breathe again as all that fat finally had a place to go.
“Thar she blows!”
Alicia was too intoxicated to hear what her best friend had said, but as she looked up she was glad that her sister in-law had brought her more champagne and brownies. Mary always did know how to cheer her up.
Mary squeezed Alicia’s plump belly and gave it a shake.
“You okay there, big girl? Let’s get some more food in that fat belly of yours.”
Alicia happily let Mary feed her the brownies, not even bothering to keep count. She was so grateful for Mary’s friendship. Though she was self-conscious about how much weight Mary had lost compared to how much weight she had gained over the years, she was happy to be Mary’s fat friend especially since all her other ones had abandoned her. But who needed them? She had Mary… and brownies!
A toast was in order. Alicia raised her glass to friendship.
Mary smiled and gave a toast of her own with one hand squeezing Alicia’s thick belly roll.
“Here’s to you. Happy Moo Year!”

Thank you. I had a lot of fun writing both of these. They were great suggestions. Part of the fun of writing these short pieces really fast is that they can really surprise me because they rely much more heavily on instinct than me sitting down and plotting what the next point is. I did enjoy the realization that these were coming out with somewhat happier endings than what I usually write.
