Please check out www.dark.netflix.io at least once for a way better experience, this show is really complicated and they've made a awesome website to keep track of the names and relations, and it's completely spoiler-free. Just click on Season 2 then episode 1 and you can brush up on the names and family trees and storylines.

Best casting I've ever seen!
Octavia
Trin should make character flash cards... and brush up Rob before each new episode.

That amorphous blob at the end made me think of that guy with the crazy hair in Ancient Aliens..."The only explanation could be...aliens!" (I'm sure it's not actually aliens...the previously mentioned "God particle" perhaps? Man, this show is making me use parts of my brain that haven't been used in years!)

I was starting to think that Rob was face blind and then he said “I recognize people by face more than name” 😂
Octavia
Agreed! I'm blown away that they could find such striking resemblances along with such good acting caliber. With everyone. Once I realized the level of casting nuances... it was generally easy to 'see' who a new character was meant to be. (Like, the first time I watched this episode... I guessed who young Noah killed in the beginning, based on his looks alone.)

I think it's literally the best cast production of all time! Just incredible

One of the things that really impresses me about this show is... how meticulously they cast all of the versions of each character. There is always a resemblance ... and sometimes a family resemblance also. It really helps to keep that in mind, when trying to recognize younger / older versions of these characters.
