id love to see you guys react to the other two sequels. they hold up better than I thought they would

Duckers0

The books are good.

Agnes

I actually really love this movie. I've only seen the sequel once and I don't think it was as good, but I do go back and watch just this one sometimes. It's simply a good action/adventure :)

Wtf? We don‘t have to praise everything and everyone is allowed to voice their opinion. Especially on shitty movies like part 2&3.

kimburley

First time watching. Was ok seems like it was rushed to get to an end to just move us to another movie. Such a big build up for a maze they seemed to just get through and moved on. Will continue watching with you if ya’ll watch too.

Sand Man

I read all the books in highschool years ago and always feared watching the movies, in case the butchered it like divergent, but with you guys reacting, ill give it a chance since it will be good no matter what that way.

Miroslav Blabla

Yeah, the same thing, if they are immune to the disease, why are they getting sick :D

Michael Celia

Yeah, this is one of those movies that's fun to watch, but the more you think about it, the more ridiculous it seems. Even the Panem of the Hunger Games begins to fall apart upon closer inspection.

Han

Not at all and how about you stick that negativity somewhere else

Octavia

The setting is cool. But the story is a contradictory mess. And none of the characters are 3 dimensional enough to transcend its faults.

Emmy

I think that's why this trilogy has such a special place in my heart. He really put everything he had into these movies.

Bradley Weeks

The premise seems ridiculous to me.

Bradley Weeks

I'm just as confused at the end as I was in the beginning 🤔. Why did we do all this?

James

I’ve wanted to watch this movie for years this was soooo much better than I was expecting you guys gotta do the rest. Newt and Minho were my 2 favorites I’m happy they made it through. Thomas didn’t completely feel like the main character which I kinda like, he kinda got thrown into everything like we did and got built up by the people around him

Octavia

Where to start? The math? One person coming up every month for 3 years, beginning with Alby. That's 36 people. Maybe 40ish if they are over 3 years. But there's easily 60+ people in the glade. Many names were already crossed off pre Thomas' arrival. If the sting was exactly the same as the flare virus... and there's a cure for the sting... then there would be no need to still be testing. So the sting can't be exactly the same thing. Yet the movie makes this a confusing point. If a lot of the newer generations have developed an immunity... Obviously the answer is to sacrifice lots of them in a massively elaborate, years long gamble for a cure. Rather than let the natural immunity continue on over time. But what else can you expect from a company that unironically chooses WCKD as its acronym. And then, of course, our hero Thomas does in 3 days... what no one came close to doing in 3 years. I guess he's the most special. They said... we gotta move this along to phase 2... aka the sequel. And ditch this huge facility that must have cost millions. What unnecessarily elaborate and overly convenient storytelling.

Darrell Pringle

Really good series and the lead actor Dylan nearly died filming the third and final film! They actually had to pause production for quite a long time to let him heal. It was big news at the time obviously!

Sean

debatable, downhill after this one imo

Chris Reed

I enjoyed the concept of maze runner at first, but after the first one, it just got weird

Octavia

Wanted to rewatch because I don't remember this being more than an unremarkable teen dystopian series. Still not seeing what is great about it... except its atmosphere. There's no real depth to the flimsy characters and story so far. The actual lead is certainly no standout. But re-watching with R&T make anything more enjoyable... just by their presence.

Miroslav Blabla

Divergent is great 😃

Michael Celia

After the Hunger Games (both the books and the films) became something of a phenomenon, there was a whole rash of franchises based on YA dystopian book series. This probably was one of the better ones. (Some didn't even finish ::cough cough:: Divergent ::cough::).
