I loved your reaction to this yet again! The only thing I have to disagree with is Rob’s mentality of “they’re both victims there are no bad guys” listen I understand they are kinda coaxed into piracy so they have the money to pay off the gangs, but still there’s always another way aside from robbing and killing innocent people. If your mindset was consistent, in that case, it’s also okay for a Hitman to go around assassinating random innocent people cuz his boss says he has to do it or he won’t get paid and he’ll get beat up etc. I don’t consider the Hitman a victim in that scenario and same with the Somalis in this movie. You can still be empathetic to their situation of course it sucks but they are still bad guys.

First time watch, loved this. I also wanted the kid to survive so je could redeem himself. Usually, when you're that young, you can make bad decisions like that and when older change your way and redeem yourself (speaking from personal experience and old friends known)

I watched Bosom Buddies as well. You are right, it was silly. But, I loved the chemistry between Hanks and Peter Scolari. Also in that sitcom was Donna Dixon who married Dan Ackroyd and the late great Wendie Jo Sperber.

One of the best fun facts from this movie is that Tom and the African actor had never met until filming when they met each other on board that ship... Tom said that the fear was real because of how good the actor was.

You guys were spot on about the ending scene. The EMT treating Tom Hanks was a real EMT and was told to just go up to him and treat him like a real trauma victim. ALSO its been said that Tom Hanks performance during this scene is one of the most accurate portrayals of someone in shock
