If you look really deeply into these characters, on the surface they are self-centered and just clueless of other people. But, if you pay attention they are actually kind and endearing, especially Alexis. They never seem to deliberately try and verbally hurt people. I think that is why I like them so much. There is more to their personalities than what is on the surface.
