You give WAY too much credit to Laguerta. Rob is always glazing her and taking her side for some reason even though you have watched her do and say shitty things all the time. She leverages people on the force for political gain, she facilitates smear campaigns, she SLEPT WITH the woman's husband who took her job just to get her to freak out and get fired and then when the guy calls her out for it (when they were in bed) she did the same shit she did this episode with Angel by saying its not her fault its someone elses fault) as well as abusing marriage as a way to get around breaking the law and going against a sworn affidavit as an officer of the law. She is NOT a good person. Please use context in your judgement of her from now on because its so painful to see Rob say "what? I dont understand im in shock" meanwhile this is not even close to new behavior for Maria. Most of the fans weren't the least bit shocked. And since I know im late and you've watched it already, you will also see how she turns this not accepting blame for getting that woman and bystanders killed into punishing Deb and throwing her completely under the bus. Shes a nasty evil woman.

I have adored Jonny Lee Miller since Hackers, and Plunkett & Macleane. And, of course, as Sherlock in Elementary. (And as the 1st Mr. Angelina Jolie.)

Yeah, unfortunately, Rita was never really developed as a fully dimensional woman existing in her own right. Mostly just a satellite of Dexter. While Lumen is entangled with Dexter... she always comes across as her own person. I find her very believably relatable.

I have to agree. As much as I love Rita, she lacked depth for sure.

I love the caliber that Julia Stiles brings to this. In just a couple of episodes, she's brought a lot of depth to Lumen... who immediately felt like a fully real female character that has her own sharp edge of identity, and equality, even when she's in need. Something that I sadly don't think the writers ever pulled off with Rita.

I can understand why Maria challenged Deb’s decision in the club. Maybe she wanted to avoid a scene or she wanted to have a closer look at the brothers but her not recognizing that she made a bad judgement is wild. And I usually love Maria 👀

Even if Dexter was ready, Lumen is traumatized do I don’t think that she is looking for this kind of relationship.

Lumen is kinda pissing me off alright the way she just shows up everywhere doing what she’s not supposed to do after being told to stop. I do like Dexter and her possibly together but it’s only been a short amount of time since his wife was brutally murdered it’d look very very bad if he was just happily with someone now
