I agree with your points, except that Avasarala doesn't want to do anything about it. She's just super cautious about allowing people through the rings when we don't know what ELSE the protomolecule can and will do and what's out there. It's her job to be worried about threats and that's been her whole political career. She doesn't want to be responsible for a whole bunch of Earthers getting killed.

Dont underestimate Nancy Gao, her points are very valid and she would very likely be better for the citizens of the earth. 80% of earth population is unemployed, avasarala doesn’t want to do anything about it. Just because you (understandably) love avasarala, it doesn’t mean Nancy isnt correct when it comes to these points.

Don't let the fact that we all love Chrisjen as a character lead you to disregard everything that Nancy Gao is saying. Some of the points she's making are legit.

I do believe that most of the scenes on Illus were shot at an abandoned quarry outside of Toronto with some overhead shots from Iceland.

Totally forgot how it's one thing after another on Illus - if memory serves, there are even more things in the books that aren't included in the show that it got ridiculous. It's a good thing Avasarala isn't being kept up to date...she'd roll her eyes, throw her arms up and hiss out a few more f-words.
