Kamanda Hickey

You are right about the Bert and Ernie reference, I got that right away ☺️

Kamanda Hickey

The « human being » mascot is absolutely terrifying 😂

Best reaction of the weeeeek

If you’re going to react to bad movies, please start with Movie 43. Personally, I really liked that movie, but the critics DESTROYED it.

Annie

If you guys like the sillier humour of the Jack Black episode, you’re going to adore this show as it progresses.

Venom

Another cool aspect is Troys actor Donald Glover is the actual inspiration behind Miles Morales after being dressed as Spider-Man in community.

James

“They just jealous of what we have” while holding each others hands was hilarious

GoodDocGonzo

You guys have seen most of our loveable crew in the MCU, too. Abed played a communications officer for SHIELD in Winter Soldier. Troy was both in Spider-Man Homecoming and the Spider-Verse movie as The Prowler. Shirley was in Endgame, riding the elevator with Tony and Steve when they went back to 1970. Senor Chang was the vehicle impound security guard watching over Ant-Man's Van in Endgame. Lastly, Dean Pelton was in Civil War, as the MIT liaison who speaks to Tony about his donation. There are a handful of actors from the MCU in community, too, but no spoilers...

Laura Dawson

As much as I love the whole lot of them, Troy and Abed are everything.

Settling in to enjoy good laughs with you on Fridays... is the highlight of the week. And as someone who has been a longtime tv & movie junkie... the way Community embraces & subverts entertainment tropes & references is both hilariously relatable and comfortingly clever. The level of details are impeccable. I'm giving a gold star for Britta's line about Jo from The Facts of Life. And Pierce's 'I knew it.' Lol... been there, Britta, been there.

GoodDocGonzo

Did you notice Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" played both during Jeff's pool showdown and was also the song Jean changed the radio station to before the car crash at the beginning of Dark Phoenix?

James

That’s possible I’m thinking more around Long Island/ the city

Michael Celia

I knew someone from upstate New York (Buffalo area) who pronounced bagel that way, so maybe it's an upstate thing?

Michael Celia

Comment: I can't be the only one who thinks the mascot...thing is a horror movie villian that deserves to be drowned in a pool. Movie reference.

lemmy

Also highlight of my week too!!!

lemmy

Rob you have seen Abed in something else, he is the evil DLC monetization guy at the games company in Mythic Quest 😀 one of the best parts of that too! https://youtu.be/RnUS1NbC9to

James

That first episode had me in tears at the end. “Let’s go film the sex scene” wow. New Yorkers do not say Bagel like that I don’t know where she’s from. All of these episodes were great, I’m not sure but I think the Troy and Abed scene at the end of the last episode was supposed to a reference to Bert and Ernie from sesame Street but I’m not 100% it just looked similar.

SnailSmoke

Absolutely loving that you're doing Community. It has been something I look forward to every Friday. <3

Ninaofthe90s

omg I love Abed's impression of Don Draper from Mad Men. It was really good! But it's even funnier because Alison Brie played Trudy Campbell in Mad Men. It's my favorite show of all time.

MarySoul

As someone that loves this series deeply, this is one of the sweetest times of the week. And because I know the best is yet to come, in ways that will be fantastic for us fans to see you both get to experience them for the first time, certain bits we are all been very well behaved in not telling even a bip about... So in that regard I can not express how happy this rewatch makes me. But I'll understand if it's not meeting your expectations for the channel. The series has never been main stream, it has a lot of nerdy, pop culture references, so that might translate as a harder sale for some, but to those, I say, give them a couple more of episodes, maybe, wait and binge watch the first season all at once. Really great episodes ahead.
