This set of episodes was great but the last one was really special. I am loving these reactions 😅

It's also part John Woo's Face/Off... the Nic Cage iconic 2 gold guns & the angled jump while firing.
Ninaofthe90s
Also: the Britta and Chang shootout - like in The Matrix.
Matt Peterson
Definitely the Schmitty of episodes.

It's here it's here, modern warfare! Hahaha it's like Christmas morning again! Let's goOOO!

Modern Warfare just set the bar. A sharp, pure fueled ode to action survival movies. From the '1 hour later' desolation nod to 28 Days Later to Predator, Die Hard, The Warriors, etc..., to the whole Scarface & John Woo-ness of Chang's entry. This is how you appreciate the history and art of film & television..

So according to the Shirley/Dreadlocks relationship, if I bring chicken fingers to the gym, my gym crush will actually notice me? Also, did anyone else notice that the paintball episode was directed by Justin Lin, who is probably best known for directing several Fast and Furious movies...that's tracks...
James
Felt like an episode of the walking dead

Abed just straight up becoming mafia boss for an entire episode is something I didn’t know I needed from this show. Shirley and Pierce are weirdly similar they can both be pretty offensive at times The last episode was my favorite though I loved how it felt like an apocalypse now I want to see Troy and abed in the walking dead
Venom
Streets Ahead, Don't Wanna be Streets Behind.

I'm not sure - Did you get the Die Hard references?? It wasn't very subtle. The scene between Jeff and Britta (uh-oh. No paintballs, Hans?) and during the scene with the dean Jeff is wearing a dirty white tank top that looks like John McClane's and he started laughing and then revealed the gun taped to his back. The whole scene is an hommage to Die Hard.
Stormy Waters
I don't think I'm alone in regarding the episode with the high school kids as one of if not the worst of series.
Ninaofthe90s
aah I wish you would've talked a bit more about the modern Warfare episode. It's such a masterpiece. 😨❤

Two of my favorite episodes and one of my least favorite... Love you both!

Modern Warfare is like the first real taste of Community in absolute full swing. Love S1 but always feel like we've finally arrived at Community fully formed when paintball rolls around!
Dylan Jones
Probably two of my favorite season 1 episodes in here
