Seeing the second film first didn't stop me in any way from enjoying the experience. I don't care about DC but took a chance because of Gunn, and ended up enjoying it well. Watched the original after and it did absolutely nothing for me.

The Suicide Squad (2021) is NOT a sequel to Suicide Squad (2016). It is a reboot. You do NOT need to watch the 2016 version to watch the 2021 version. Not sure how everyone was confused watching the new one. And people calling this a bad pole when there is only one bad option need to relax, it's not that deep. Broaden your horizons or whatever

I can't speak for all the voters of The Suicide Squad, but as my suggestion, you have my blessing to skip it and watch Suicide Squad (2016) first as long as you promise to circle back to this. I suggested it before but it never made it to the 1st poll, much less the final poll. Actually never had anything make it to a poll. So this was kinda cool. I didn't know it would upset people so much. They haven't seemed very interested in the DCEU here so it really didn't seem like that big of a deal to skip to this. On second thought, I know they would enjoy seeing HQ's orgin. I really love the actress that plays Waller. She's my favorite actress and I know there's another familiar face they'll love. Personally Deadshot is my favorite from this squad. I enjoy it less than the 2021 version but I agree they should probably watch it first. When I first watched the 2021 version, I had to immediately go back and watch 2016 to get some back story to even know what I was watching. I'm not hard-core into DC but I decided to watch it bc of James Gunn and Peacemaker.

Reading the comments reinforce my belief that the process of selection might be too open. It’s interesting to see how these movies have nothing to do with each other when it comes to genre especially knowing that people vote mainly for what they already know. We can’t be mad at Rob & Trin but I get that it’s frustrating.

For the whole time I've been on Patreon it's always been a running joke that it would never be voted for and I'm sure it's not something rob and trin would be interested in but it's always a fun reaction to watch see what creators think. We've done most of the bigger franchise films it only seems fitting we eventually get twilight. Like you said, it's not a populour vote but I'll hold my hopes out 😂

I definitely went through a Twilight phase and while it's not something I sit down to intentionally watch it because I burnt myself out on it, I will shamelessly admit that I would willingly and enthusiastically rewatch with them. I voted for it but didn't get my hopes up. Kinda doesn't seem like the right crowd for it. Who knows!? It's got a fandom and would probably draw in a lot of viewers on yt.

They like to go in as blind as possible. They've said that many times. Their reactions when they recognize an actor they know/like/have seen in something previously are so great! With all the negativity here recently, this probably isn't very enjoyable for Rob and Trin at times. Why take that from them too? If we're throwing tantrums in the comments, the least we can do is honor their wishes.

Naming cast members isn’t spoiling. Rob and Trin have sometimes picked films based on reading who is in them. Like Passengers. Rob said he picked that because he read Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence were in it. He still knew nothing about the premise of the film.

Yeah, they mostly do very broad genres though.... like historical, drama, thriller all as one. Which is huge. But Western specific, franchise continuation specific, War specific, Period piece specific, heck- Submarine specific... would get a better mix into the month, I think. Worst list I’ve ever seen here. I’ve given up suggesting anything. It’s just too depressing to see A grade, award winning movies like Silver Linings Playbook and Spotlight, continually lose to juvenile B grade movies like Grown Ups. This is a great idea. We normally do genres, right? I could be mistaken but I think this is the first poll we've had since I joined in 2023 where there was no specific genre and it was honestly kind of fun. It's the most I've been involved in one. This is just one month. And there will be Rob and Trin picks that will hopefully make up for some of the disappointment a lot of folks are experiencing. Niche polls could be fun too.

Completely agree. And I'm happily dismissive. These choices are mostly subpar. We must have a very male, very non-discerning base of voters going on here. Truly great quality movies get passed up for lowest common denominator, all the time. I would love to see much narrower polls sometime. Like a short poll for Westerns, for Period Pieces, for Animated, for Action, for Franchise continuation, for specific actors or directors (like a short poll of Gene Hackman movies now that he has died), etc... each winner would be a week in a month. The next month would be 4 different genres. Not perfect... but a little more something for everyone.

Well, that is true a lot of the time but not always. Like I love House of the Dead. I've watched that thing I don't know how many times over the years, but there is no way I would ever be able to convince myself that it's a good movie. It's just not. It's absolutely terrible, but I love it and enjoy it anyway.

Completely agree with you Amber. I know some people will be lighthearted with their disappointment, but it's more so the folk who are undeniably 'stroppy' and judgemental who wind me up. I often haven't seen/have a clue about some of the movies picked but I'll give them a watch anyway to see if I discover a new favourite. Unless it looks too scary cause I'm a wimp haha. As others commented a 'good movie' is entirely subjective as we all are individuals with our own preferences, and nobody is 'wrong' for liking one movie over another. But we simply don't need to throw a tantrum in the comments if we personally don't like the movies voted for. I'm hopeful that the folk who do throw a wobbly every time aren't intending to - and that they appreciate Rob & Trins efforts when they try to keep as many folk happy as possible.

Like their opinions matter more than the majority. I'm 38 and thanks to audh, I have a specific interest based nervous system and I'm not interested in 75% of what happens on this channel. I don't usually find myself thinking my taste in movies and entertainment is any better or worse than anyone else's - just different, and I'm certainly not dismissing the majority vote or making people feel like shit for their preferences.

Well maybe Suicide Squad will be one of their picks. Yes, they will miss a tiny bit of context about how they came to be but James Gunn does his own thing and it's not really related to much else in the DCEU. The DCU will move forward without much of the cast and history of the DCEU.

I know it’s sad. I get people might not like any of the movies but there’s always next month. This is the only fair way for everyone to put their idea forward. I very rarely get movies that I wanted but some of the ones picked end up being great movies even though I’ve never even heard of it. I get its upsetting to people to not get the movies they want but it’s kind of rude to just comment basically making fun of the people who do want these movies

I still appreciate you guys so don’t worry, just sucks to see movies that are so good get overlooked by bigger or newer movies. As for the other reactors I think it’s just a coincidence but annoying lol because it seems the same movies are being reacted to by everyone at the same time.

We add variety every month with our picks, doing a losers poll will upset more people overall so not sure it is totally viable. We will never make everyone happy either way and we just trust that people are voting for what they want. Not sure we have the time to check other reactors for a summery of the overall libraries. Totally get the frustration but we added our picks so Trin and I could watch stuff that appeal to us but now they have become a method to mix it up. Doing our best to increase the happiness of the masses each month.
