Oh and one more thing, you mention Dexter being hypocritical if he doesn't kill her, which he kinda is (mainly because he judges others as deserving of Justice, whilst forgetting about himself), but the same is true mainly for Deb. She says that Hannah deserves justice, while being an lt in the police and her brother is a serial killer. So hypocrisy is a given in these situations with these characters.

I believe you guys read the whole situation wrong with Hannah. Her reaction to the story she shared with Price was not meant to be fake. As she mentioned to Dexter she doesn't enjoy killing, she feels like she has to (whenever she has). That time with Wayne, as Dexter told her, she was inexperienced, so it was probably her first time, so it is logical that what she described was accurate and also her reaction genuine. Also she might be deserving of punishment (i.e. going to jail), but in this show, where we follow a literal serial killer (i don't care about the coating we place over the fact that he kills only people who "deserve" it), i'd say her sins are far outweighed by the sins of our main character.

this is exactly why i love them. it's also why i love a certain other relationship from a certain other show. people can say it's toxic, but if we're being honest, any relationship dexter is going to be in is going to be toxic just because of who he is. at least with Hannah, both of them are completely aware of who they are and who each other are in a way that Lila, Rita, and Lumen couldn't be that.

The reason I love Hannah and Dexter’s relationship is exactly that complicated nature and grittiness you described. I adore Hannah, but I won’t say for a second that she’s a good person. She’s not. She 100% deserves to pay for what she’s done. What I love is how compelling she – and their relationship – is. Like Rob said, I want it to continue because it’s a dynamic we’ve never really had before. Now that Deb has asked him to take care of her, it’s going to be even more interesting!
