On youtube you can find the show's creator and cast commentary on this episode and they said they really loved the fan edit of jeff and annie on youtube. They wanted to pay homage to it in this episode and Dan Harmon even tweeted out before the episode aired that a surprise will be waiting in this episode.

Love the last episode, is one of my all time favorites. 💓 . Thought these would include the fistful of but we are in for a treat next week, can hardly wait 🫣😃 And.... 6 seasons and a movie still stands 🧛🏽 the cape will have it.

First episode was super funny I always love an Abed episode. Not gonna lie brita is weird for this one. If she really believes his story about being touched by his uncle why in gods name would that make her what to kiss him like I would think you would become even more careful not to touch them since it might bring up memories or something. Last episode was my favorite though those slow motion clips were funny. I wish we could’ve seen that Wild West episode.

Only Community would do a Clip Show filled with unseen adventures. There was an early Jeff/Annie fan video set to that song... with lots of slowed down glances. So they were referencing & poking fun. But still... there's no denying the Annie of it all. Jeff & Annie episodes always have the most compelling energy to them.
