Patron update & Poll
🕑 Added 2025-07-06 16:39:59 +0000 UTCG'day all - We've just kicked off the second half of the year (I know, that snuck up on me as well) and so I wanted to give an update and put up a poll.
2025 so far has been a solid year year for the channel with a few videos I've really enjoyed making and an absolute barrage of major international events.
I do think it's fair to admit that after the sudden pivot to cover events in the Middle East for two weeks, I'm tired. When those major shifts happen it's always a surge of work both for the channel and outside it, and 2025 has been very, very eventful in that respect. My hope is to be able to take a break for at least a few days at some point in the next month or two but I will try to avoid that disrupting the release schedule that all of you support.
Regarding the release schedule, there are going to be three polls coming up.

A surprise that I can probably announce in 2-3 weeks; and finally,
How you want Patron specials to be treated (today).
My intention when I made the interceptor drone video here was to keep it isolated to Patron as a shorter topic where I could show more video with fewer content restrictions. With Russia's drone effort ramping up and Ukraine turning to interceptors on a larger scale in response though, I now want to do a full video on the topic and was wondering how you would feel about me using some of that content to build out a full-length YT release.
As far as I'm concerned, Patron content is for you all, so if you'd rather I avoid using any of it on YT, feel free to vote in the poll below. I don't expect this will be relevant in every case - it just so happens that interceptors have, as predicted, become a much bigger deal quite quickly.
In other updates, Perun gaming is on a sudden hold simply because I'm travelling and don't have my gaming PC at the moment. If I have to stay on the move too much longer I'll look into what might be laptop friendly if I can.
Many thanks to all of you, seriously, for you support of the channel so far through 2025. It really helps to keep me going.

Because of the tools I have ("Smart" TV's) I saw the youtube when I could not access the Patreon video. I now can get at one of my PC's and find myself very frustrated because I know the Patreon version is different but dont wish to watch something where I have already seen a large percentage of the content. I therefor ask that Patreon material is either identical to the later YT releases or that any differences be kept in some form of supplementary Patreon only post.

Given the occasional Monday videos I don't think they often get finished until just before they're posted. So I don't think looking for early release here is reasonable or practical

Having thought on it some more: releasing the videos earlier on Patreon, say on Friday on Saturday, would also make sense. I normally don't have the time to watch the regular releases untill the following weekend. Also: I understand the unique situation, but IMO the Interceptor video was the worst option possible. Given the length of your content, posting a shorter version on Patreon and later an expanded one to YT is annoying as hell due to the overlap, at least without a summary of the changes. Distinct videos are fine. Same videos are fine. But two different versions of the same video will have me second guessing which I should watch. Do I watch the Patreon version? Do I wait in case an expanded version is released? It's really not a good option. On the other hand: if it's clearly described and labeled, posting an expanded version on Patreon is also an option, iff they come out at the same time.

I'm happy for all Patreon content to be released on YT after a few days.

Most professionals get 2-4 weeks off per year, you shouldn't be an exception. Enjoy your time off with your family.
