(probably not too soon)Relations/Morale: Characters will have personalities/preferences and form relations with other characters, while working together etc. and get bonuses (more exhaustion restoration, brothel-income, exp etc. based on those). Also basic relations to your maincharacter, rewarding/ punishing certain actions
Achievements/A lot of new Traits/Professions: permanently unlock new starting stuff by doing some special achievements. (gives certain goals even when there is currently no story/goal)
Tournaments: Special Arena fights over multiple rounds with the same hp/mana, where you can select some characters from your team to fight based on your opponents/biome, while others can rest. Also unique rewards/ maybe traits for winning characters etc. Maybe rankings for characters to earn by winning, qualifying for other tournaments.

Achievements would be nice, and gaining starting bonuses adds replayability. Tournaments would be nice too, adding a middle ground between long expeditions and short Arena fights. But I think you should start by adding Relations: if they affect all parts of the game you should build them as early as possible.
