For the church question, it really depends on the church. Some churches allow children to take a sip of wine, and some have a separate cup filled with grape juice. I feel like the more old school/traditional the church, the more likely they are to have children drink wine

when my parents made me go to church and do communion the kids would drink the wine with everyone else, but there was always someone holding the cup of wine and pouring it into your mouth and I remember they would always be so stingy like barely letting you have a sip and then after each person they'd wipe the cup with a cloth. The church was catholic so ik its different for others tho. I would always try to get a big sip of the wine when I first did communion I was like 8 years old
