It's a new relationship. I think staff romances are always a risk because if it falls apart, one usually ends up leaving. There may even be a rule against it. A lot institutions have a ban because of the drama it creates. I don't think Severus would ever make a public declaration to anyone at Hogwarts unless it was a serious move like marriage.

It was supposed to be him pushing you up against the door. 🤣 He had you pinned with his arms on either side of you so you couldn't escape. He felt you've been avoiding him, but there is more backstory to this. There always is with me. We only see this scenario from his perspective, but in reality he was the one who kept you at arms length emotionally. The intimacy was there, but he wasn't making you feel secure in the relationship. There may have been a moment where you tried to get closer but he pulled back and hurt your feelings a little in an attempt to guard himself. Things were moving too fast. But when you took a page out of his book and began treating the relationship as something less serious than it was, he felt the energy wane and immediately wanted that connection back. This was an attempt to take back control while being out of control. 🤣 He is a bit of a mess. What he really meant to say was he missed you and he regretted putting a wedge between you because he got overwhelmed, but his ego took over in this moment. I imagine later after you are laying in each others arms and at peace, he might have a more inrimate conversation with you and say what he meant to say. An apology at least.

For me he was being a little childish and desperate, and it was adorable. His emotions changed a few times throughout as he tried to correct himself and assert a sense of control, but he was flopping around like a fish. I picture him replaying the conversation in his mind and shaking his head, determined to have more self control that night so you wouldn't think he was unstable.

For him to be angry that you've been busy with personal things and occupied with work that you haven't had a lot of free time to spend together would have been an overstep for him. He has been patiently waiting. But now that he knows you are free, he pounced. I think this moment was more about him feeling passionate and starved for your love and company. He wants to be a bigger priority in your life than he has been and he's dealing with the realization that he has fallen head over heels in love with you. He was the one who kept things casual. You were trying your best not to make him the center of your world because you didn't know how serious he was about you. I think he felt overwhelmed by his attachment to you in this moment and it came across as angry and a little accusatory, but he was bothered by your effect on him and excited by it, and he was being a bit dramatic as he tends to do.
